which of course doesn't apply to this at all, since it's not real-time.prettylights wrote:nothing comes close Celemony Melodyne.
edit: that comment is sort of smar-assish - don't take it too seriously.

Oddly I missed your post and was using sp3ctr3 last night anyways.
I've used it since the day the alpha was announced.
I don't mean the silence vs. audio trigger, as certainly in retrospect would be the obvious meaning of what I wrote.
I mean that using note-on messages to the detector to tell it that that point in time is when you want a new note-on message, of the detected note value, to be sent. That way pitch bends would start from that point, and fast passages could be broken up into new retriggered note-ons.
Such a simple solution to the haziness of the note detection algorithms abilities.
Essentially you'd be signalling to the audio-to-midi that this point in the audio stream is where I choose you to analyze and then send the proper note.

If you're a Reaktor user, how about giving my instrument a try ? I could use some opinion or suggestion in developing it. It's based on Frequency Tracker Ins from Reaktor Lib and i've modified it to be compatible with my guitar playing and singing. It is located in Banks & Patches for Reaktor section.

That's spot on....I own a G50 also and I can confirm it works bettermbncp wrote:Cool, you just reminded me that I have a G50 midi guitar converter, and that thing can use a mono audio channel too. So I pluged a mic into it and the result is ... amazing : http://homepage.hispeed.ch/mbncp/images ... ditest.mp3, too bad it didn't catch the lyrics
converting voice to midi than any soft.

Sorry for the necro on this thread, but it's 3 years on, and I've been digging around for days now, and it doesn't seem like much progress has been made in this area...

No, not for anything but a casual Sunday jam while laying back on the couch.
The best ones are Fretkeys and Pitch Extractor, both free, the lowest latency I've ever tried with software, but the feel just isn't too good.
Payware realtime audio to midi is generally higher latency, more precise, but who cares.

best realtime pitch tracker in software i found is in u-he zebrify, effect version of zebra. there are few to no presets for audio to synth functioning though. it does not send out midi either. you'll need to spend some time figuring it out.
