You can hold down the Ctrl key and select multiple patterns, then hold Shift and click on the selection. You can then type "Arpeggio" in the box to 'name the group', choose a colour if you wish and it names them:

Arpeggio
Arpeggio #2
Arpeggio #3
Arpeggio #4
...

and so on. :)
sweet tip dude. i wasn't even aware of this.

thank you.

more easily, VSampler could just load the slices built-in the wav, since I save them as normal markers. SoundForge, Audition, probably every other editor will load them.

when you load a REX in Edison, there's no autodetection, the markers are the ones from the REX file.

Im partly joking guys..Ive just recently re-discovered FL after a year of using Cubase SE3....I havent really got used to version 7 yet...so my head is full of dumb noob questions right now...I never did get down to work and learn the FL shortcuts... 8)

Can the Browser be moved to the bottom or is it locked to the left hand side? Don't see any options to move it. :?:

drag from the top blank area where the title text is. that'll put it into windowed mode and you can put it wherever you want.

Thanks! That works. I'm trying to stretch it out all along the bottom to make it wide and thin but doesn't look like it will go that way. I'll keep trying. Excellent thread by the way. :D

yeah it seems like it's not able to be expanded to the full width of the screen at the bottom like a dock. i think it's intentional and by design. it can go pretty wide though :) if you find you need to see more content there are modes in it to show a smaller font with smaller lanes, compact, small, normal, big, etc.

WAY less easy.. for some odd reason Vsampler DOES NOT see these embedded slice points in WAV files (don't you think I'dv thought of that??). I've been messing with this for YEARS now with no luck and wishing that MAZ would put this feature into VSMP.

I'm a seasoned AA2 user and while it can also see/create the slice points, Vsampler does not see them!! Look at my examples I posted earlier in this thread. As soon as you drag the sample from Edison all the slice points dissapear.

All of this came for the need to quickly move sliced samples/audio from AA <-> FL <-> VSMP. Unfortunatly the this is the reality for slices AA <-> FL <x> VSMP.

I also realise you can export each slice to a separate file, (I do this often) BUT imagine if you have a huge session of sliced samples/audio. It becomes a real pain to export each file from either AA or Edison, then 'batch cue points' or 'export slice to file'. Doing it that way totally kills smooth workflow.

Thats exactly what I meant.. They are AUTOMATICALLY detected from the REX file..

Just found a cool little feature.. When previewing in the pianoroll you can make it repeat passages by holding down the end button at the start and letting go a the of the passage.. It will then repeat the highlighted section! Oh and this also works in the Playlist..

Umm... not really much of a feature but more of a mandatory requirement in any decent piano roll/arrangement!

In any case, just to add to your tip, all the windows functionality works w/ this stuff: copy, cut and paste etc.

And if you have highlighted a section in the playlist, you can use CTRL+INSERT to insert the number of highlighted bars before the area that is highlighted.

And do shitloads more things...

Well getting the obvious out of the way.. I would not have thought of the end button would repeat parts. I just stumbled on it.

It's the little things that count ;) !

Hi Grymmjack, thanks for this thread.
I posted a similar thread in FL user forum (cool thing...) and GOL says that this option will not be available in FL8. Too sad!!

Excellent OP :tu:
I'm not an FL user ... yet. But reading stuff like that, it's just getting more and more tempting to succumb! I've been occasionally demoing FL with each version since 4. I always get almost hooked. It's very different from my other stuff, and obviously loads of fun. To hear how powerful it is under the hood... hmmm. <checks credit card balance>

One question for you FL lovers here at KVR - do any of you guys use the Collab tool? I was reading about that in the latest issue of Keyboard Magazine, and it also looks very interesting. Especially if there's a chance to do some collaberations with some of you guys...

headquest: please don't ignore my reply above!!!

Thanks for the OP grymmjack - I didn't know that FL's browser could be customised in this way! Sorry to hear that these browser enhancements won't be in FL8 tho..
