Oops, I forgot: X-Gear also does not authorize in Logic with my setup.

I have not tried standalone... I'll report back.

Yeah, I always authorize standalone just to get it done and out of the way before loading into a sequencer or DAW.

Standalone works ok. Vst works ok. Au is a no go for all my Amplitube stuff except Hendrix (and possibly Metal which I don't have).

Or standalone.. or VST (like I do on a Mac in Cubase without the same issue). Seems AU-specific.

I will add I just sold my Marshall JMP-1 pre-amp, a TC Electronic effects processor and a Behringer FCB1010 foot controller together for about $750 (to pay for my Stomp IO) and there's no question that what I got has way more flexibility and sounds that what I sold. And what I paid for Stomp IO was actually less that what I just sold off, so I actually made a slight profit. :-)

I would listen to what IKM has to offer.
I'm interested in the comparison with Tonelab. The clips I've heard were far from convincing, whereas I can get AT2 to sound pretty good. Can you use Tonelab as a general MIDI controller (my guess is no)?

Guys, this isn't the open forum area, it's our company forum. We're okay enough to discuss products that are either sold on esoundz or from companies we work with but remember this is still the Sonic Reality/esoundz forum. Comparisons between products - especially non-sample related products really should be in another area of the forum please.

Sorry, didn't realise what forum this were.

No problem Krank.

Generally speaking to you all, as explained in our company forum rules we have some delicate politics. SR's partners DO LIKE our forum. I'm often allowed to post interesting info or pics in advance of releases and things like that (just posted the GPU pics for example). I've convinced IK, Submersible and others we work with that our forum is good promotion for them so they should let us discuss their products (supposed to be in connection with SR or esoundz though but... we stretch that). They wouldn't be happy if we were opening a can of worms that lead to people bashing their products or even people suggesting competing products be purchased instead. By all means, say whatever you guys want about it... but just not in HERE though. If we DID allow that then things could change in what these companies feel comfortable trusting in our hands... for example they may say "no, no, don't discuss our products, no more advanced info or pics posted... just discuss yours!" That would be fine. Sometimes I do prefer to just discuss Sonic Reality products. But it has been fun discussing broader topics involving other company products. So let's try to keep that preserved as it has been for 8 years.

I just wanted to say that I was contacted by Dan from IKMultimedia and he directed to to patches that fix the Logic/AU problem.

In addition, at my request, he emailed the patch directly to me.

Now that's service!

Dan's the man, now let's hope for an IK forum here or on their site :) *cue Izotope Vinyl in the backround, making my post truly sound like a broken record*

Uh... really? Hm. Interesting. First of all, did I bash Sonic Reality or eSoundz at all? Did I say anything about either company? For the record, I don't think I have anything from Sonic Reality unless they're responsible for some of the things I got from the eSoundz group buy which I tried to turn a lot of people on to. I own all the flavors of Amplitube and I got them all from eSoundz so I'm a little confused. Am I not allowed to criticize IK Multimedia's products here? Even after I praise the things that are great about them?

Well, you just lost a customer guys. The correct response as a retailer would be to go to IK Multimedia and say, "We think we could sell more of your product if it didn't [bashing predeleated]"

So delete this post if you will, but I've already copied and pasted it and will cross post. I could see if I was saying something like "that product SUCKS" but expressing opinions about price and features that are missing (yet included on almost every other amp modeling software) in a forum should be welcomed, not deleted.

zerocrossing,

I think I was mostly directed at my post.

First of all, this is the Sonic Reality and esoundz forum. Of course we do appreciate anyone who buys their IK products from esoundz. But that doesn't mean we change the rules we have for this forum which are there for a reason... and I explained that reason. Constructive criticism is one thing, damaging and offensive comments are another. When someone says "F. U. IK Multimedia" they're asking to be moderated given the rules we have. If you didn't know them then now you do. All we ask is that you don't use our forum here for bashing the companies we work with. But there are other places on KVR where that would be acceptable (depending on what was said and how it was said I suppose... I have seen threads closed in other forums when people have gotten too heated etc.).

We hope we don't lose anyone as a customer just because we have to moderate according to these rules, to be able to do what we do in the way we do it and preserve that delicate balance so that people can continue to benefit as they have for the last 8 years. But, if we do we do. We can't compromise these things. You cannot use our forum to bash companies we work with. We won't allow it and as moderators of our own company forum we can make that judgment call. Some posts cross the line. Fortunately it's rare. But it is unpleasant when it happens.
