My vote went for choirs and vocals. It seems there's no middle ground out there on these. Either they are cheap (and of passable quality in a mix) or extraordinarily high quality but very expensive. I'd love to see S.T. sounds that hit the middle ground between these.

I'd also be interested in some "True Strike"-like percussion.

I could have voted for more than one. But what I would really like to see is some playable guitar chords. In general it would be nice to have some more detailled sounds/variations when playing and round robin if possible.
Good brass/sax sounds would be very welcome as well.

Sampletank does not currently support round-robin or any kind of playing variation scripting.

Yep, and I would like to see that in a future version plus more detailled sounds using those features.

We do have some very rare Nashville sounds in loop form and we did a product called American Heartland years ago. It would be nice to do something new with country/folk instruments in ST format (besides the ReTank Nashville Grooves and Country Folk Rhythms we already have).

Now Squids you know I didn't mean just "prog rock guy" although I do think you're the king of sounds in that field which is why I bought all your sounds. In addition to your passion when talking on the subject of Bruford, Genesis etc.

I probably should have said "Renaissance Man" That said... I as you have an eclectic taste in music and always looking for styles which is why I have the Motown, Soul, Brit Rock, Classic Rock, not good enough for Jazz (although I listen and have a great record and Cd collection of it ) but I thought some country sounds would be cool. I have both ReTank Nashville Grooves and Country Folk Rhythms. Like I said I think of them as tasters to the music and yes there's much that is usuable, actually just about all of it is. However I think it could be expanded further like a whole Disc of one instrument and make a collection of Nashville/Country style instrument set.

I guess it's a matter of cost and the number of people who would purchase it to make it doable. Just as you said you thought about Garritan catalog. I understand being a "good" guy don't pay the bills and "I wants" don't necessarily generate sales. There has to be a large number of people who want it and judging by your poll after a few days only 2 out of 63 requested that and I being one of them. I don't see it a viable endeavor.

But I'm sure your come up with something in World for ST and that's good too, I would purchase it as you turned me into a "sound" junkie... at least that's what I tell my wife, lol!

I threw in my vote for Ethnic\World as it's always fun to play around with some of the lesser known (to me) instruments from other places. There are already some nice bits and pieces between Sonik Synth, ST library and the Rare Instruments, but can always use more!

I totally agree. Saturday I used my V-machine (with 90% Sampletank-sounds) for the first time at a two-hour gig. Rock-solid performance by the V + the patches load fast as h-ll. I used to take my iMac to gigs but even the iMac occasionally produced glitches and mainstage isn't 100% reliable.

Great stuff everyone. Keep it coming!

Squids,

Don't mean to bash ST for it was good in its day but now that I have watched you develop sounds for KONTAKT (which is a more robust ROMPLER), I was hoping that you take your massive BANK of sounds and convert them to this format and use the tools and features of Kontakt to enhance the playablility of your sample libraries.

Ocean Way Drums was simply "BRILLIANT".

So, I would love you to enhance the quality and at the same time keep your sounds "affordable". OWD isn't exactly a poor man's drum library but for those reading, it is definitely worth EVERY PENNY.

I don't play it out live, but in the studio the SampleTank-engine products run wonderfully on the Receptor too. I will do my best not to add yet another type of sound I want in this thread if I can hold back *trying* ah, ok I can do it. ;)

I chose "Rare Instruments" as the SampleTank sounds I am most interested, but I would like to clarify that by rare instruments that would include rare and interesting variations of bread and butter instruments.

So, for example, I would always welcome another antique piano and real honky tonk or tack piano, etc. Can never have enough options when it comes to the basic instruments. I would like to see some of these rare pianos and other rare instruments with *MORE* velocity layers. Slightly larger instruments with more detail would be fantastic.

Any chance you could expand some of the early Sonic Reality bass, drums and pianos? There are some pianos, drum kits and guitars, for example, which I really like the sound of, but which don't have velocity variations and alternate notes. It would be so great to have extra samples added (if you recorded sample variations) for some of the early material (like Mutha Kerz drums, As Falls W guitar, Telecast, etc.)

But anyways... just wanted to clarify that my "rare" includes interesting and unique sounding variations of basic instruments as well. Also interesting in more sitars and other Indian/Middle Eastern instruments.

I picked "Rare Instruments", but I really would like some more "Horns and Winds".
