...one quick suggestion !
...if i input via keyboard a different (larger) value on the level of the operators (like 50 or 100 or 500 !!!)...the FM synthesis really works betters !
right now the fader only goes up to 10... but try a sine---->sine with 100 or 200 and you'll see what i mean...
...i didn't mind this so much until i read some old post in this thread about it...and try it myself !
Odo's PURPLE or the old PANZERTANK from LAnd of Cockaigne...they work like this..
maybe you could put an extra small switch that would turn the LEVEL FADER x 10 ???
to i would go from 0 to 1000 ?
...i could use a square or a saw to for a similar FM synthesis...but is not the same...
...any way...this is one of my favorites synths so far !!!
really nice GUI.
...Easy to use
...THANK YOU SO MUCH !

Thanks for your feedback!
I did look at this suggestion of higher levels when ville suggested it, but seems I forgot to answer, sorry.
Anyway, yes, bigger values (>100) do make a very interesting sound when the operator is used only as an modulator (output to other operator), but also awesome speaker blowing when that operator is a carrier (output to audio). The problem is that an operator can also be both modulator and carrier, so if you step through the algo's you could get a very nasty/expensive/pant-soiling surprise.
I'll see if there's a solution, but at first look I think not, sorry.
Still, you can type in big values yourself as a work around at your own risk, but I'm not keen to allow accidental use by extending the slider range.

I have just given FMMF a run for the first time. It's a great synth with a very interesting sound - thanks. I was drawn to spending some time with it this evening.
I had trouble with the envelopes though, when trying to get one operator playing a long release, which it wouldn't do - it doesn't seem to work as simply as FM7 that I use. But.... although I couldn't quite get my head around some of it I still liked the interface and was really inspired by the presets and sound.
