I'm so glad that some people like the gui I'm working on :) and I hope the finsihed gui will continue that positive vide, but I do find the negative comments regarding the efforts of others disappointing :( .

Edit: I mean the negative comments towards the other designers. I dont think just slamming them down is really needed, postive commoents that are critical concerning details of it only help the designer, just saying its junk doesn't doesn't really honor thier effort.

I bought all the David Haupt modules a while ago. I also bought all the Chris Kerry modules. The CK modules and the DH modules don't play nice together and SOME DH modules don't work with the newer SE 1.1 (I am using the latest stable build).

I will look into this after I have the sound library and some external client projects sorted out.

Grymmjack,

You are correct.

Hils, you must realize that you're a mighty talent also, and not everyone is going to like your stuff. There's always the flamers and complainers lurking around here. It's always something.

KK i'm not trying to kill your thread. i'm trying to give you some advice that apparently you might be ignoring despite your better judgment as you've hinted at. i'm honestly not trying to kill your thread, but when you air all of this publically, with these threads, including the private conversations you've had with scott and how he's remorseful and all that stuff, i had to get this off my chest. if you didn't make this thread, i wouldn't have said anything. i've gotten PMs since posting that and they are supportive and agree and wonder why people are turning a blind eye towards this issue (seemingly) when it's been publically stated by the accused and admitted to the guilt.

i dont want to hurt your threads, and i hope that it winds up being ok in the end, i wanted to take this last chance to try and make you see how ridiculous it is to believe anything he says, and hope that you are intelligent enough to see the truth.

that's it, and you'll never hear of it from me again unless he creates another temporary account which will again get banned and lies again to which i will probably say "you're lying" or something.

i wont post in any more of your threads, and you dont have to lock this.

i empathize with you and i sympathize for scott, and i'm merciful and believe everyone deserves chances, but he's not ready to be given this chance yet as he did not even realize it was wrong, and shouted "so what?" when it all happened.

anyway, no more from me, promise. hils is a much better designer, by miles so in the end it's going in a positive direction.

Grymmjack,

I respect you deeply. Of course I want your input and opinions in any thread I create or reply in. I just want to end all of this CRAP I stepped in unknowingly.

I will tell you all this:

Had I known before-hand that SK would have caused me this much grief, I would NEVER had hired him.

NEVER!

EVER!

fair enough Mike. thanks for not being angry at me and being a human about it.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, but I meant the negative comments towards the other designers. I don't think just slamming them down is really needed, positive comments that are critical concerning details of it only help the designer, and I think are appreciated most of time even if the designer doesn't agree. Just saying its junk doesn't really honor their effort.

to find everything, and the basic controls are placed where no confusion exists in
the workflow. Instant productivity! The eyecandy is minimalist, as it should be, nice
gradients and sparkle, none of which compete with settings or controls. This is the gui
SonicSynth2 should have had! 8)
I'm doing my best to keep the gui I'm working on very tidy and lacking eye candy, being what I hope will be a straight forward get to work gui.
Hi, when seen from a distance of about 6 feet, I like a gui that draws me in, with
eyecandy that serves a purpose. Mikes version has subtle gradients surrounding some
elements, and also the small glassy swirl elements as borders, neither in competition
with functionality. Your pg_35 gui is also a good example, spacing and lighting are good from a distance, and invite a closer look, and would not tire the eyes in a long session.

Your current supercore pic has a dark gradient by a black border surrounding white text fields, meaning the eyes are constantly processing darkbright darkbright, and in the first area of use, choosing sounds and shaping them. This would not bode well for the long sessions this instrument will likely often be used in. I realize this may not be considered by young people/eyes, but the clock is ticking, even for them

Cheers :)

I hang wallcover by trade so I judge everything from 6ft away. I'll consider what you've said when I get back to work on it.
Wallcoverings are amazing these days! I was in a high-end paint store last year that had
rows and rows of product folders, foils, fabrics, gazillions of paper based patterns...
I got a guilt complex from buying just the white paint :hihi:
Some were so expensive, that one slip of the blade and :-o there went a days pay! Doing skins must be good therapy after a hard days work :)

this is SO MUCH BETTER than the first, the first ones looked like (sorry)shite

Excellent progress, the dark textfield really makes it easy on the eyes, the subtle gradients and shadows are CEO territory! The top line of the main rectangle elements are not at the same height, a little visual stairstep that draws the eyes briefly away from the work at hand, much like the difference between walking in a hallway, compared to approaching a porch or threshold, slight, but real.
Cheers :)

Let's keep it civil. Different strokes for different folks. Many people like the other skins and then we have Hils fine work and some other skins in the works.

The point is, we have different choices for everyone.

A minor, but not unimportant, point if I may:

L A Y E R 3

is so much more difficult to grasp at a glance than

LAYER 3

or, if you like the spaced-out look:

L A Y E R 3

Best,

Joachim
If it were easy, anybody could do it!
