That's curious... since I first used the version included with the purchase of any RMM loop library, i have a slightly different naming on the low tom - bottom mic samples. Anyway, confronting the size of the files in the "open source" archive with the ones i previously had, i came across this list:
on the left, the name in the open source version, on the right, the naming i have
large_tom_under_alt1---> large_tom_under_80-90_4
large_tom_under_alt2---> large_tom_under_80-90_2
large_tom_under_alt3---> large_tom_under_50-60_1
large_tom_under_alt4---> large_tom_under_30-40_1
large_tom_under_alt5---> large_tom_under_80-90_1
large_tom_under1---> large_tom_under_0-10_1
large_tom_under2---> large_tom_under_0-10_2
large_tom_under3---> large_tom_under_0-10_3
large_tom_under4---> large_tom_under_0-10_4
large_tom_under5---> large_tom_under_0-10_5
large_tom_under6---> large_tom_under_0-10_6
large_tom_under7---> large_tom_under_10-20_2
large_tom_under8---> large_tom_under_10-20_3
large_tom_under9---> large_tom_under_10-20_4
large_tom_under10---> large_tom_under_10-20_5
large_tom_under11---> large_tom_under_20-30_1
large_tom_under12---> large_tom_under_20-30_2
large_tom_under13---> large_tom_under_20-30_3
large_tom_under14---> large_tom_under_20-30_4
large_tom_under15---> large_tom_under_20-30_5
large_tom_under16---> large_tom_under_30-40_2
large_tom_under17---> large_tom_under_30-40_3
large_tom_under18---> large_tom_under_30-40_4
large_tom_under19---> large_tom_under_30-40_5
large_tom_under20---> large_tom_under_40-50_1
large_tom_under21---> large_tom_under_40-50_2
large_tom_under22---> large_tom_under_50-60_1
large_tom_under23---> large_tom_under_50-60_2
large_tom_under24---> large_tom_under_60-70_1
large_tom_under25---> large_tom_under_70-80_1
large_tom_under26---> large_tom_under_70-80_2
large_tom_under27---> large_tom_under_70-80_3
large_tom_under29---> large_tom_under_90-100_1
large_tom_under30---> large_tom_under_90-100_2
large_tom_under31---> large_tom_under_90-100_3
large_tom_under32---> large_tom_under_90-100_4
large_tom_under33---> large_tom_under_80-90_3
Now you can rename the files and match the with the upper mic versions.
One thing that i've found in not all the upper mic samples have a corresponding lower mic sample (and the other way around too) so i just deleted all the samples that were not present in upper mic AND lower mic versions.
p.s.

Thanks again for taking the time!! This makes things much easier on my part. I will rename the files and send them to herodotus. It would surely be easier for future mappers and users if the namings are the same.
I completely forgot that I checked out your demo late last night. It works in my winamp now. FYI It is very very good!!
EDIT:
I started to rename my files, but halted at this..
large_tom_under_alt3---> large_tom_under_50-60_1
large_tom_under22---> large_tom_under_50-60_1
large_tom_under23---> large_tom_under_50-60_2
Is it possible that alt3 should be 50-60_3 and not 1 ?

Ops, you are right, i've made a mistake
: all the matches are correct, except this one:
large_tom_under_alt3---> large_tom_under_50-60_1
wich should be
large_tom_under_alt3---> large_tom_under_10-20_1
everything else should be ok.
glad you liked the demo

Its groovy as h...! I like the cymbals at the start and how you demo the different snares and the toms. I will try your midi file with my mappingsgvnz wrote:glad you liked the demo
How did you create it? By playing or programming, and if by playing; kit or keyboard?
Now off to map that last tom!

remember that the preset i used for the demo implements midi CC 004 as a controller for the hihat open-ness (wich allows the samples crossfade continuosly from closed to half closed to half open), so unless you did the same the hihat will sound always closedBaard wrote: I will try your midi file with my mappings
just programmed it with the mouse in reaper's midi editorBaard wrote: How did you create it? By playing or programming, and if by playing; kit or keyboard?

Indeed I will. Work occupied too much time today, so no mappings yet. I did a quick mockup of a logo tho'. Please look at it, and tell me if it works as intended.gvnz wrote:have fun!

The iRompler mapper will both import and export .sfz format so one can use it to make one's own instruments and even distribute them online and "in app" via the cross platform .vst and .au player plug-in which is soon to be available.Rathead wrote:Is this perhaps an opportunity to 'revive interest' in the SFZ format?
An SFZ creation/editing application with a friendly GUI might win over the non-scripting types and result in a thriving community of sample swappers.
Could even end up as a poor man's kontakt.

Great work, all. This is going much better than I had anticipated. I would like to thank every single one of you, especially Baard and gvnz.
Would anyone like to moderate a forum? I would like to set one up, but I just don't have the time to maintain it. Whoever moderated would be able to upload whatever they wished whenever the wished. I have plenty of bandwidth and webspace.
Anyone interested should pm me, and I will set things up.

Thanks!
A own forum is a great idea. I sent you a PM about moderating, I gladly offer my services. It would be good to collect all information in one place, and it would be a convenient way of sharing mappings.

This really sounds interesting. Does anyone know how this could be done in sfz? Still working on the new version. i think you should look at the following opcodes:Baard wrote:This really sounds interesting. Does anyone know how this could be done in sfz?
xfin_loccN
xfin_hiccN
xfout_loccN
xfout_hiccN
xf_cccurve
I don't know if this works in realtime (i mean, when the samples are playing) as it does in e-mu software, but if it does, it's great because you can have as many crossfade layers as MIDICC's

Thanks again gvnz!
I have tested some xfades on sfz earlier, and its my impression that sfz xfades in the same manner. Yet I havent tested with xfade on cc. I will try it out in my next version. Could be great to have that cc mapped to an expression pedal. At work, we have a nice Roland v-drum kit, and I plan to make a mapping for OSDrumkit with V-drums in time.gvnz wrote:I don't know if this works in realtime

Hey all.
Just thought that I would announce that the Open Source Drum Kit has it's own forum now. Baard has generously volunteered to moderate and administer it. You can get to the forum directly: http://realmusicmedia.net/osdrumkit/
or through our samples page.

Thanks to herodotus, and to gvnz for the ProteusVX version. And though I haven't downloaded the whole 600MB shebang yet, I probably will at some point, so thanks to SWTrex and Baard and any future SFZ mappers as well.
