So far I'm unimpressed with namm.
Re mackie, They always miss something apparent like send without returns or proprietary formats without production and distribution. Why do I have a feeling they don't have any lock out controls.

Nothing so far I want to buy, but that polyphonic Fishman guitar pickup looks cool, the Behringer and Ion Ipad guitars look cool, but pointless as I doubt you can get any apps besides like IK Multimedia.

As much as I hate the whole ipad thing Jordan Rudess and his wizdom company are really doing a great job with app development.
Okay here are some things I like from namm.
Presonus has wifi iOS apps for band members to control their own aux sends. Not only does the engineer get his own app but each member can have an app to set the stage monitor outputs.

resist the urge to ignore them or better yet smack em around a bit.
Nord is re releasing the C2 or releasing the new C2D depending on how you look at it.

I dunno about JR but there really are allot of great things. I just can't help lolz about "i" anything.tapper mike wrote:As much as I hate the whole ipad thing Jordan Rudess and his wizdom company are really doing a great job with app development.
iK for example used to be a cutting edge product for computer geeks......I'm surprised they even support us anymore considering how i'ed out they are. Still waiting for them to update a bit of their line (but hey, a group buy coming soon!)
good for the i'ers. More power to 'em, but I want a 24"screen (or two) and a powerful computer to run my toyz.

Yeah, I agree. Funny, yet terrifying. The Digitech iStomp looks like a high risk stage device. On the dark stage in the rush to setup, you mix up the Digitech with your iPhone.hibidy wrote: ..I just can't help lolz about "i" anything.

Everyone knows the first stomp is the deepest.

haha! You DO know I started a thread on that product right? (and no, it's not negative)mandolarian wrote:Yeah, I agree. Funny, yet terrifying. The Digitech iStomp looks like a high risk stage device. I think it's a good idea but considering it's 149 bones street price it's kinda limited. Then again that is the iphone and not the ipad (which is where the convo went) with the alesis stuff looking a bit more friendly.

I saw your iStomp thread. Seemed terribly serious and assumed you were kidding. And now discover my iSarcasm filter is broken too.

See that's the thing, people take me WAY too seriously. Oh well.
I'm all for it. I'm not getting an iphone. Maybe an ipad, but I really don't need a new "lappy" and I don't like allot of things about that fruit named company. Still, for many, exciting times......

I would have an iPad, for sound design and various sundry things where dimensionality would correspond to gesture more intimately. But I don't really get iPhone apps for music. It's another of the things that just alienates me about IK. I can't relate to how they do anything and they are so confident their policies are correct.
I'm not sure what an Ace Frehley is actually. I hope that explains even more.

I won't have an iPhone either or iMusicAppCrap either. But, if it keeps some cash flow in MI, I'm all for it. Just don't want to see it or hear about at KVR. This place is reserved for big boffin hotrod computers with big manly screens to manhandle big brutish VSTs.

oh I get it now. I googled 'Ace Frehley'. Someone that bought a Mac is a silly twat because it's exactly the same as buying a lame record priced 100 times its market value.hibidy wrote:Ah, that explains muchjancivil wrote:I went to the first MacWorld!
I think 5300-13000 usd is perfectly acceptable for an Ace Frehley LP......don't you?
that is truly desperate attempt to diss somebody. You got an awful lot of snark, I've no idea what you have on the ball that buys you this much 'tude. Methinx it's a kind of compensatory measure.
If you want to be taken as light-hearted, maybe lighten up on the passive-aggressive shit? Cutesy isn't much of a disguise for it.

Jan, that ace frehley thing wasn't directed at you AT ALL. I shouldn't have put the two in the same post. The other part was completely just joking around and was not intended to be anything other than a chuckle. I am sorry

that sounds great...but last year...almost all damn year I re-learned a valuable lesson. NAMM can be a mean tease, the iso cab I so love was introduced at NAMM and every month they pushed the date back another month and it was 0ctober (maybe November) when it was finally available. So I just prefer to wait until the product is avaible before I learn of it's existence, even in retail while we did get the earliest access it could be months after NAMM before the reps were bringing us the gear to sell. (depending on the gear we might have seminars or extended training on stuff a week or two before the gear was released)justin3am wrote:hibidy wrote:it's just a bunch of garbage.
I, on the other hand, have been totally surprised by all the cool stuff that's getting released this year.
That's why I hate NAMM watching

yeah jan the thing is I absolutely despise Gibson because you are spending more for the name than for the guitar itself, signature's are worse because you are paying for the Gibson name than even more for someone else's name. Fender is the same way too to an extent because there are Fender amps I like and a few other companies that sell signature models. (I'll buy from the company but I wont pay more for a signature model because chances are I'm modding it within a week anyhow). So it's a bit of a running joke...which prompted me to build the les paul burner.hibidy wrote:wtf?jancivil wrote:oh I get it now. I googled 'Ace Frehley'.
