Is the main board just supposed to be out in the open, or do people house it inside something?
Still, $35 computer that can actually do some basics is something I'd buy.

Well, you can get some specially made cases for them for about US$15.00 and up, depending on features (like openings for accessing the GPIO pins or maybe a lid with some hinges) but I've seen people using it hanging from the lan cable in front of the TV, or housing it in a case made of LEGO bricks, or cases made with 3d printers or some cool wooden boxes.... imagination is the limit I guess.

ah i see...didnt realise, i just saw it in the window as i was walking past.DaveHoskins wrote:But you get the kit that comes with it, the basic PI is just the circuit board in the middle:Kriminal wrote:$25? Its £75 in Maplins
But, the idea is that you may have everything else already. I think I could find most of that lot in the stuff I've kept over the years.

I could probably find something that'd work at Goodwill for $2.Tzarls wrote:Well, you can get some specially made cases for them for about US$15.00 and up, depending on features .

FWIW, I'd suggest you to download and build/install the STK. It works with the RPi and the included tests work just fine as "audio hello world".

The point of "Hello World" is that I coded and compiled it, proving the development workflow is in place. But thanks, I'll take a look.Tzarls wrote:FWIW, I'd suggest you to download and build/install the STK. It works with the RPi and the included tests work just fine as "audio hello world".
