BTW, ARP by HGSounds is crashing for me in Reaper, so that doesn't seem to be a stable option.

I tried Seq 28-116 and it is interesting, thanks! But Catanya is still so far the absolutely best I have found, the UI is so nice and simple yet gets exactly what is in my head out, three octaves and three notes from each chord, it is really simple and perfect IMO. And all the presets make it very powerful out of the box. But even without that, I am finding I can get what I want out of it where every other arp is either too simple or a big chore to work with. I think I made up my mind, 7aliens get my cash

This is cool, but criminy his website is confusing. Free, not free, free, not free. ??? I finally found the free links but you would think he would remove the big demo/purchase button and the corresponding pages if all those packs are free now.

I am a little taken aback by the price but if I actually use it it will be worth it to me. But I am wanting at least two installs available. I emailed the dev but haven't heard back yet. The app also was last updated in Jan 2010 so that makes me wonder if it will be updated and supported beyond what is currently there.

I bought and installed it ages ago and as far as I recall I just needed to enter a serial number. I assume it can be installed on a desktop and laptop. If you intend to use arps regularly in your music then I think it's worth what it costs. If arps are only a very occasional thing in your music then one of the free arps would probably be better value. Having said that, if you create a great song with it and never use it again then you've still got your money's worth.

Yeah I want to use it for creating repeating phrases and it very nicely and easily does that without lots of confusing settings, etc. It is very simple but does what I need. I am disabled with a neurological disorder and my arms and hands hurt constantly, being able to lay down a chord progression once then tweak it for different instrumentation is very powerful to me, actually eases my pains

it plays what is on my mind even though my hands can't do the job.

I pulled the trigger and bought Catanya and am loving it. No time-out really puts me at ease, just lay down 8 bars and work on the grooves. It is a great workflow for me, put the chord progression down once, work on making that interesting, then work on the sequence patterns for bass, piano etc. This is a great way for me to work

Once I have the groove down, I write the pattern to the piano roll and add some more variation so it doesn't sound too mechanical, then move on. It is wonderful for someone without the technical chops to play what is in his mind. By far this is the easiest plugin I have found for creating your own interesting arpaggiated sequences. Thanks everyone who gave help and suggestions, I really appreciate it.

I agree, Catanya is inspiring whatever someone's ability. I also find the variety of repetition it creates quite soothing and it lets me get on with composing something musical pretty quickly.

This is my first track made using Catanya, it is not done, no lead guitar and the drums are just placeholders, but it is pretty thick with sound so I don't know how much more backing tracks I can put in the mix. It needs much work but this should give an idea of what I was after :)the guitar is Strum! but everything else was done using Catanya.

Been looking for days for this app to suggest to you, but could not remember its name: finally stumbled upon it.

Not an arp, but a chord progression thingy: ZS001 vst

Might come in handy.

I was ready to buy the plug in but it crashed Reaper, and didn't display any UI beyond text to purchase from a facebook page. Maybe it needs to bake a little before i am able to use it. But it looks very handy, I'll keep checking back on it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Good arpaggiator that works with any VSTi?
