Me and my colleagues are reading this thread with interest and appreciate taking part of your opinions. We also want to thank all our customers for their support.

Regarding the other instruments (Rhody etc), the sound is different because the volume is overall a bit lower in version 4, and the reverb is also different. By increasing the volume slightly and loading the legacy reverb preset in the reverb section, this should provide the same sound as in version 3.

If encountering any other issue with Pianoteq, feel free to contact our support team for assistance.

Thanks for the advice. I did try to compensate for the volume, but didn't notice the different reverb setting, maybe have been further back in the mix. I'll adust there. Not too worried about that one though.

Is it the same for the K1? Should it be otherwise the same? Seems fairly different to me. Not that it matters much to me now, I'll probably just use the D4 for everything.

Yes, K1, C3 and M3 were all updated with the new soundboard and other improvements.

What do you piano experts think of if you hit the low A (A0) with max 127 velocity, does it sound ok? I'm no piano expert but to me the low register sounds a bit funny, it has almost a church bell like character.

Some pianos do indeed sound like that. Not all, but it is not an unknown occurence in pianos.

Strange...I have noticed lost of quality in mid register...hmmm.
Low and highs are much better in v4...actually almost perfect IMO.

Trying to achieve same or close enough sound as truepianos
diamond module (phasing issues in TP).
No luck...is something like that even possible?
If someone can share a preset I would be very grateful

Perhaps you might get in the ballpark, but a 1:1 copy probably won't be possible. Try playing with the EQ. Ideally you would need the Pro version to tweak the range you find problematic to your liking (in Standard version all you do affects that parameter for all keys equally).

I'm new to participating in this forum.

Your music is very good (Pianoteq or not) I've found that people have strange 'ways' of expressing biases in this world. Essentially, they are 'human' (unfortunately sometimes a blessing and other times a curse).

I own a few of the best sampled pianos in the world... and I would say to ANYONE that Pianoteq (whatever version) has its place in one's musical arsenal.

Last night after listening to all of the version 4 demos, I realize that Pianoteq is now FAR MORE VERSATILE than before. No, it's not a "piano" (per se), but it is indeed a REAL instrument. And some people either cannot or will not accept that.

I cannot wait to try it on the Christmas songs (and others) I want to do for 2012.

People are assholes. You've had a great sounding track there!

I wonder how many of those people were from other companies.
I wonder if any of them were fortunate enough to have grown up with
a grand piano in the home? Heard a maestro or jazz great perform a concert
in a proper hall?, or have ever even owned a spinet?

Talk is cheap, Pianoteq is excellent.

In the 80's people preferred DX7's Rhodes to the real thing. Maybe Pianoteq will have the same faith and become fashionable at some point, who knows.

Yes!! I made it a point to purchase FM8 in the 90's AND keep my trusty Yamaha TX-802 for future purposes.

Real piano has its uses; that is an outstanding instrument. Still, Pianoteq has its place, for those of us who load programs into a COMPUTER and expect play the box.

In some threads, izonin's posts are regarded as being helpful and insightful. Maybe people in their right minds will have the same faith and they will become fashionable at some point, who knows.
