Quick question - Polyphony? Does this matter for Midi controlling, or just the onboard sounds?

Update...someone else bought the Kurzweil. That's what I get for taking so long to make up my mind. The upside, I've bought a Kawai MP9500 and saved myself $790. I may still get a Kurzweil down the track, but I think the Kawai will be nice for learning to play piano. Thanks again everyone.
