Just dropping in to say I genuinely don't know much about this, and couldn't begin to tell you what the purportedly too-CPU-intensive parts of real-time audio circuit emulation are. Just stuff I've heard over the years.
Some electronics stuff I know inside out, and some programming likewise. This particular combination -- zilch. I'm as n00b as they get, or nearly so.

Anyone had used Qucs (integrated circuit simulator) application, how is it, is it easy to use and convenient for beginners?

out of the box solution, if you want to design & build plugins using individual electronic components... you could always build a plugin that calls out to a real life circuit, on breadboard, over some D/A & A/D interfaces.
