No. Not even close. It's more like a chiptune wonder box gone to heaven.

I haven't tried an OTO biscuit, but from the description, I guess there's some common ground, although Permut8 is likely more diverse (you can do some basic delay/flanging/chorus with it, and move into beautiful destructive territory from there). The sound is top notch, anyway, but that's to be expected with Sonic Charge.

Biscuit has a few tricks up its sleeve too... off the top of my head:

Bit crusher, sample rate reducer, delay, pitch shifter, envelope follower, wave shaper, step filter, tube fx, chorus all run thru an awesome 8 bit analog filter with resonance… and, oh yeah, it's also a synth!

Of course it costs quite a bit more as well.

Oops, I was just going by the demo vid on youtube, which probably doesn't show a tenth of what it can do. I stand corrected.
