My one wish is that in future versions, Spectrasonics would make the STEAM folder install itself in the Documents folder so I don't get 10 messages about how the STEAM folder doesn't have read/write permissions. I don't get this crap with Kontakt, and it took me awhile to get it sorted. Win 7 64 bit.

I updated and then found out you have to re-authorize and the code didn't work. Spectrasonics makes it idiot proof. Requested another code and they wanted to know why, and the reason was right there in the little drop down box provided.
Still haven;t seen the Orb thing, but the 64 bit is rock solid. I did everything I could to crash it. Nope. Loads are really fast (but I think this computer;s fast) I had hell with messages telling me the STEAM folder didn't have read/write priveleges, even though everything would work. But, I followed the instructions provided and finally managed to deal with it. Soundwise :-o
(anyone want to buy Nexus, cheap  )

Where is this Modwheel they talk about on the presets? I can't find a knob marked modwheel.
CPU wise- no more than Kontakt. Lovely. Just lovely.
Install took only 45 minutes??? Each disk takes a minimum of 25 minutes and as long as 40 though it states each disk may take as long as 45 minutes. There are 6 disks.

Aside from that I am on a Mac and the install was flawless on Spectrasonic's side. I think they deserve to be at the top of the installer thoughtfulness list. I, on the other hand, was too anxious and confident so I skipped watching the video on disk 1. That lead me to mistake when I was supposed to choose the alternate HD for the library. Based on words, I thought "everything had to be on the same disk" that you initially installed and that later would come a "script" to place the library wherever you wanted it. But they meant all of the library content that is on the 6 disks has to go to the same location. I watched the video after disk 1 and started over. They show you a clarifying example that removes the potential for making the mistake I made. Consequently, it took me the time of one disk longer than it should have. I appreciate your heads-up on the update/reg sequence. I installed the update before activating the software so I only had to do it once. Thank you!

I ran into a problem with a DAW. Cubase was fine as it has a clear option to direct it to any folder for VST/AU but Garageband did not find Omnisphere on its own. I have not researched it yet but I currently suspect that Garageband, in its simplicity, expects everything to be on the main drive. I have not found a way to direct it to optional instrument folder locations. I had to manually copy the AU component and VST files into their appropriate folders on the main drive because they automatically installed with the library on an external HD. Placing copies of those files in main drive folders allowed GB to see Omni yet the presets would not play. I kept getting errors of corrupted files. I was ready to seek support but this all cleared up after rebooting twice. Works good in Cubase and GB now.

EDIT: I just looked on Spectrasonic's website and there is a section for Garageband :)

I agree whole-heartedly!

I have not had time to dig in but I do wish this had a stand-alone version. Having a DAW running takes resources and, generally, the plug-in GUI tends to be cramped compared to the stand-alone version of an instrument. I'd like to spread this out, play and explore.
