I really like all pianos of Native instruments

Ι hate Dimension Pro. Really bad bad bad bad bad sound for me.

I think that all of those NI pianos sound really horrible...truly awful :(

The tone of Alicia's Key is sweet, but there's not a lot of dynamic range there..

Try the Ivory Italian Grand or American Classic D if you want a piano !

You need to dig into Dimension Pro to get it working right...The sound engine is one of the best out there...I think of DP as a rompler and use it like I used to use the Roland 3080's and 5080's back in the day..

Try dropping a few sfz's into it and then layering them with detune etc..

It's a great workhorse and it also takes up so little CPU

For Ni pianos and Alicia keys: Offcorse is my opinion. :)

For Dimension Pro: I dont know what happend with this. I didnt like it of first time when i run it. Νot inspire me to look it deeper. I bought it as sale before 1 year (early 2012) of cakewalk (z3ta+2, rapture and dimension 95 euro all). Z3ta+2 then cost alone 79 euro.

Unfortunately I do not use soundfonts.

Thank you for reply and your help.

I'm not talking about sf2...

It's sfz...The heart and soul of Dimension Pro and Rapture and it's being adopted by many other developers these days...

SFZ is a very powerful format created by Rene Caballos - the chief architect behind Dimension Pro and Rapture etc...

Dig deeper and all will be revealed...

Google is your friend

While you're at it - dig up the info on quality of the sound engines inside those synths...You'll be impressed :!:

I've bought a few things in the past year, like everyone else I usually wait until there's an offer on (I've only ever paid full price for Spectrasonics stuff which is 100% worth it in my eyes!)

This year I bought:

Geist (used it immediately as Battery makes me feel sick just looking at it)
Aether (WOW)
NI Premium Tube Series
Izotope Iris
Audio Damage Ricochet (love it but doesn't seem very stable?)
8Dio Hybrid Tools Vol. 1

Looking forward to what 2013 will bring us :)

P.S. I'm new here long time lurker, first time poster so nice to meet you all :)

I am really happy with my 2012 purchases (and most of them I got on sale). They were:

--U-He Diva
--U-He The Dark Zebra
--2cAudio B2
--Izotope Trash 2
--NI Reaktor 5

Diva not only lives up to they hype, she exceeds all of my expectations. Of all my purchases, Diva is probably my favorite. Dark Zebra is amazing, and being able to study so many of Howard's presets has been very educational. B2 is an amazing reverb, and I find it complements Aether very nicely, I use both all the time. Trash 2 is awesome, ranging from the subtle to the extreme, and I love that you can design your own distortion. And Reaktor is Reaktor--enough said.

And as an aside, I can't wait for 2cAudio to finish 64-bit updates so that they can release whatever other little gem they've been sitting on, I really like their plug-ins.
