Also, I don't get what the fuss is about Molot. It's cool but I find it does better low-level m/s expansion than it does actual compression. The compression is "alright" but can't even really be used to do that much extreme stuff...

That outta get the "DUH" of the year award. No but seriously, it's hard to go wrong with a very flexible comp where the dev is not afraid of the real world (unlike synthedit boogers.......yep, I just said that!)

I think it gets the "please define the problem you're having better" of the year award.

If the OP had said "You know, these here new fangled plug-ins just don't compare to my mint condition original Fairchild...", then we would at least have something to work with.

Compressors apply gain reduction, what else do you expect?

That doesn't fit the bill for every sound, but I don't like DRM on my plugins.

Thanks...did not realize that they where made available for free. I actually bought Red Phatt Pro back in the day, but the rest of them will come in handy.

Quality stuff.

More on the topic: if you have trouble hearing that a transparent compressor is doing anything, could it be that you just havent "tuned in" to what compression is doing?

Took me a while to "get it" and know what to listen for.

rea comp is great and just re-downloading now to see if it works ok in ableton.. (was a dedicated reaper user for a while there)
I have to laugh at the file size of that bundle.. all of 1mb!
for 9 plugins .. and they work great!

my no 1 free comp is still blockfish! it's one of the best compressors (no matter free or commercial)
