Are you sure about this? You're talking about Abe right? Last I heard PDC was still not complete, did they fix this in 9?No_Use wrote:I think nowadays a company bringing a new DAW without PDC is probably not to survive long. For me at least it would be a reason to not even check it out, simply no-go.liquidsound wrote: Maybe PDC implamantation.
I mean even that Pro-DAW has it now built in.
Maybe I should go back to the Abe forums and see, there's usually a "where's the pdc, or where's the dual monitor support" thread created there every week w/ 29 pages of flamebait!

No PDC in Ableton Live 9 is still not complete. It doesn't compensate automation for plug-in latency, not plug-in timing where synced to Live's transport.OzWozEre wrote:Are you sure about this? Talking about Bitwig Studio's advantages.
Well, I hope their time compression/stretching algorithms are much better in preserving the original material's quality, compared to the quality of compress./Stretching algorithms of Ableton Live.
Oh.. did Ableton improve this in Live 9, compared to Live 8 ?
If Bitwig Studio is able to get this little, yet very important detail right, they will have a huge advantage over Ableton Live ! If I remember right, the warp engine in Ableton Live 8 , and previous versions was quite an audio quality degrader.
Cheers,
Muziksculp
OH.. and why doesn't KVR forum support user Avatars ?
I think we will have lots of 'Cat' Avatars here

They have posted a price of 355.51 €
That seems more expensive than it should (specially given it is a relatively small team smaller than FLstudio or Renoise it seems), unless there is quite a bit more than we saw to it, its expensive...maybe with a right introductory price or promo
Anyway sometimes these shops post products early with higher prices to get pre-orders and then sell something else with the extra charge and have some extra money on the bank, anyway the 0.51€ are strange so it may be only a error or a glitch
.
We will see, shouldnt be much longer now, specially if they are starting to update the product pages.

Plus this recent article
http://www.dv247.com/news/Bitwig%20is%2 ... way/133227We announced Bitwig quite a while ago now, and were suitably excited for its arrival...and then everything went quiet. Now though, the incredibly-promising DAW has been rolled out in Beta format.
Such has been the popularity of this software that they're no longer asking for testers, but what it means for you is a lead time of, we reckon, a couple of months at most before this new system lands.
We were hugely impressed by Bitwig's new take on music production, in particular the way that clip arrangement works - individual moveable boxes can contain both audio and MIDI notes at the same time, and automation can also be stored inside the clip as well. It allows you to break out of the conventions of track-by-track construction and piece together a song.
Individual notes can be edited in terms of automation, pan and timbre in a special 'expression lane' part of the editing screen and there are lots of navigation bonuses too, including the facility to 'nest' devices within each other for quick access to multiple grouped parameters.

Yes, I would like to see some updates to their product page.
It's been static for a very long time.
Q1. Does anyone know if Live 9 has improved time stretching/compression (Warping) engine, compared to Live 8 and earlier versions ?
Q2. Does Bitwig Studio offer a better quality time stretching/compression (Warping) engine compared to what Live 9 offers ?
Nice to see Bitwig Studio as a retail item with pricing ! Maybe an indication that we are getting close to finally have it officially released. imho. This DAW is going to take a good chunk of the current DAW market, and very fast.
Cheers,

More than the price I like to know the protection scheme.

I'm 100% sure I'll end up buying bitwig studio, and I'll also have the 61key nektar controller please, finally a controller and daw close enough to the desired workflow I'd love.. to me that's gonna be a nice arsenal. What I like most about bitwig is their unique workflow options, less mouse clicks, more fluent then studio one and ableton from what I see.. hopefully it's as good as it seems.

Ableton Live's big advantage is that it actually exists.

BTW a new video, trusampler you may like it
It is a C/R protection scheme, not perfect but at least it is not a dongle, hope it is automated like steam and not the convolved Ableton one where you need to "beg" for new ones if you format your PC .

http://www.bitwigbeats.com/bitwig-studio-beta-mashes/With the HD mode set for stretch mode, we didn't notice any imperfections or pitch changes of any sort when messing with the waveforms. This acts a bit like Complex Pro mode in Ableton Live, apart from in Bitwig Studio it just feels warmer (not just sounds warmer). Maybe it is the smoothness of the software itself or the algorithms used for the core engine, we dont know but what we do know is it just sounds creamy, a bit like Logic and Studio One do in comparison to Ableton Live. Those that have used all these titles will know what I mean regarding the sonic differences between the audio engines.
Probably it is VAT that is included, quite high(er) around hereliquidsound wrote:I see 299.00€pc999 wrote:http://www.dv247.com/computer-music-sof ... are--93544
