Most likely, yes. Because it's not a standard library, but a Kontakt Powered one, it's probably encoded and won't play without the serial number.

I haven't tried it myself, as I prefer having it available on the left libraries panel. But I doubt it would work without registration.

Half of the links on that strange overprogrammed website are not working - including registration.
Anyway the installer is not working on XP (what I have here).
As XP works like a charm (faster than my newer Notebook with W7) i will not change my system just for a drum sample library.
Why they can't make a sampe libary working on any platform?!?

It's not the library, it's Kontakt 5, which requires W7 since recent update (5.2).

EDIT: Disregard. Was going to discuss XP support, but didn't want to sidetrack the topic too much.

if you have full kontakt 5, you dont need to install the k5 player or the vst/au/aax plugins, just the content will do.
then it'll need authorised in service center as normal

its pretty sweet for free. Ive already got studio drummer which i dont really use as i dont do much with 'traditional' drums, but it looks like you can drop the drum midi phrases from Studio drummer into DrumMicA and vice versa.

requires a fair hunk of ram though :)

it does appear in the libraries alongside the NI stuff. not sure why as theres only one instrument but looks pretty(ish).

I know. I was just clarifying that I wouldn't want to use it as a library that didn't require registration as I prefer using the left pane for browsing. In other words, I prefer it having to be registered so I can add it there.

And it does look pretty. There are two instruments for me, one in German and one in English. It's not the first library to have just one instrument, and for free, I can't really complain. I think they really only have the one kit, so not as much need to have more than one I guess.

oh ok, wires crossed sorry ;)

Thanks for the tip! Downloading it now and waiting for the registration link to start working again.

Ok, then assuming I get this log-in thing straightened out, how do I actually install this if I already have K5 and the NI Service Center. Do I use the NI installer, or any of the sub-installers at all?....or do I just point K5 to the other folder(s) and run the serial (when I get it) through the NI Service Center?

Post

Run the main installer, deselect installation of Kontakt Player and plugins, set path for the content, off you go.

You can use in-app activation within Kontakt (after you add library, there's an Activate button on the tab there), no need to fire up SC.

I, too, am one of the lucky ones that can't get the registration link on the site to work at all. No registration, no activation. :(
My music is a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called "Junk"

Hope you guys get it sorted who ever's having issues :(

Working and authorised nicely on Win8x64 in Kontakt5.2.

There's a good spread of nice clear drum samples, drum sets and they've even included some midi groove/loops. I counted 20 genres each with a minimum of 2 to 12+ groove/fills/ending midi loops. A really nice touch.

Nice mixer section with 9 individual fader controls and 1 master, each with a seperate send to built in rev. Sync for each channel and a low/hi control on the main control. Also an OV send containing EQ/Trans Designer and a compressor sends.
Each preset has a choice of 4e mics the e914/km184/usm69i and a mkh800.
Various options for velocity curve for the whole instrument and option for individual audio outs. Built in mapping for VDrums/EZDrummer/BFD?Addictive Drums and Superior Drums.

Drum presets each have their own auditor and drummer preset, not sure what these do yet apart from changing some pan for several channels...haven't delved further.
Presets :
Default
Blues1
Blues2
Britpop
Disco
DNB1
DNB2
Funk1
Funk2
Funk3
HipHop
TripHop
Jazz1
Jazz2
Metal1
Metal2
Metal3
Metal4
Pop
Phacore
Reggae
RnB
Rock1
Rock2
DT.Rock
LowFi
Cranked
Clautro
Extreme
Ambient

For a freebie this is excellent. Some of the samples are replicated in the presets but overall. There's a lot of work and thought gone into this for a freebie.

Note some of the labelling and description is german only - hey I can learn or live with that :)

Have now had no :o success logging in to their site from Explorer, Chrome and Firefox--and from two separate Windows 7 64 bit laptops. I even got a new password from them, pasted it in--and still nothing! Started a support ticket.

Downloaded the zip multiple times. Unzip gives CRC error... ;(

Can anybody provide me an MD5 checksum ?

Thanks,

Hm... so it's out now. Totally dropped off my radar.

I'm curious how long this will stay "free and educational".
