The regular route for NI plugs is:Burillo wrote:how am i supposed to activate supercharger?
You need to request your copy
You get a download link and serial by mail
You download your copy
You install your copy
You open your DAW and launch it, this will lead to a question if you want to authorize it, you select yes.
This leads to the NI service center opening, here you will see the plug listed.
You add your serial, and authorize it
That should be it

you can actually just go right to Service Center, you don't have to open your DAW and all that.

does "request my copy" equate to "download demo"? because that's what i did, and i didn't get any serials. and now NI site is obviously under DDoS attack and i can't even log in.Numanoid wrote:The regular route for NI plugs is:Burillo wrote:how am i supposed to activate supercharger?

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

thanks for replyingsprnva wrote:Edit /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist changing the ProductVersion from 10.6.8 to 10.7. Then change it back after installing. You could probably leave it set to 10.7 but I like to have it right.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:how did you do that ??sprnva wrote:Seems to work fine on 10.6.8 once I tricked the installer.
You'll need to reinstall the Service Center as some updates/installers will overwrite it with one requiring Lion. I keep a copy of Service Center 2.3.2 around for this. Alternatively you could right click on the installer, browse its contents and install each package manually ignoring the Service Center ones.
yeah, i managed to get the component with pacifist, but i couldn't get the service centre from the packet to install because of 10.6.8
so, if i make a copy of my service centre 2.3.3 to another location, will i be able to reinstall it over the newer service centre once i have authorised the compressor ??
also, your filepath seems to be missing one level..can't see core services...will try and search for it
thanks again

You should be able to right click on the installer, show package contents and then edit info.plist.DAVIDLEERAD wrote:Hello there... You can also use Pacifist to extract all files and place manually, bypassing the standard install.

You should be able to just back up the Service Center app and overwrite the new one with it afterwards (or restore the previous version from a TM backup).el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:so, if i make a copy of my service centre 2.3.3 to another location, will i be able to reinstall it over the newer service centre once i have authorised the compressor ??
You don't need to use the newer Service Center to activate the software. The old one works fine.
I used this trick when the last bunch of updates came out for Komplete as they were the first to require 10.7. For standalone programs you also have to edit the minimum system version in the info.plist. It's a lot of messing around but it's sadly becoming more common these days and I'm not sold on Mavericks yet (my Audio Kontrol 1 isn't working properly in it anyway).
The path is right but perhaps CoreServices is hidden there? I changed it using two commands in the terminal:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|10.6.8|10.7|' /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
sudo chmod 644 /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
The second one fixes the file permissions.
To change it back just run the commands again but swapping the order of 10.6.8 and 10.7 in the first line.
New: I've changed the first command because I noticed that using defaults converted the plist to a binary format that caused some problems.

using pacifist works to extract the component, but when you got to activate it service centre doesn't show the plugin...extracting and using the service centre update in the installer won't work, as it flags it for not being 10.7
cheers

will try these extra instructions
