Electra2 now includes Physical Modeling synthesis. Two new resonator filter modes; Phys.String & Phys.Flute allow you to create Physical Modeled sounds. Both include a INIT menu template patch to have Electra2 quickly set up a patch for you.
An additional noise oscillator type; Pink noise was also added for general purpose and plucked string physical modeling simulations. :o
cheers
The factory presets in the "Semireal" category/sub-folder contains several examples for the new modeling modes.
If you use the corresponding template patches from the INIT menu (template names "Create patch: Physical Guitar" and "Create patch: Physical Flute") the sound source like mentioned above is a Pink noise oscillator. Increasing the volume of the noise osc adds a kind of distorted sound to the clean one which with the String modeling changes from a clean guitar sound to a distorted one (starting from the INIT template patch).

You could also use other waveforms than the Pink noise (which is the default). In that case the results are maybe more far away from what was intended but could be interesting. Also using other noise modes (e.g. fractal noise) of the noise oscillator could be interesting.

I'll try to explain this and the related controls in the filter section more detailed when the synth is released.

At the end of the new video () it says "Get it now from Tone2.com". I went and checked and I can't get it now. :(
Definitely time for me to get back into ElectraX/2.

It's obvious he's trying to lure people to the site. He's probably getting more hits that way.

Just heard the demo video and it sounds like a Emerson Lake and Palmer wet dream. I really like the range of sounds, it even does flute. Looking forward to a user demo, just to see what it can do for cow bells :D

This link should provide the video in higher quality:

Audio demos are on the way and the official release should not take too long now.

Jeez, that video is so offputting. If I didn't know what ElectraX can do I would be totally embarrassed. A cheezy panflute derivative - wow!

Wouldn't be into pan pipes myself, but in fairness they are showing off a very broad spectrum of what it can do.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

i totally agree with you, simon. tone2 have really great products (and i expect electra2 to be excellent) but their marketing in general is off-putting. still love your tripleX soundset for electraX btw.

Thank's man, I am thinking about upgrading to v2, but I had better not watched the video, as I hate to buy something marketed by displaying the most mainstreamish, uninspired, boring and cheezy sound design one could ever think of, but that's a silly attitude I know :)

In Electra 2 there is a Panflute patch (that in the video) done with the new Flute modelling mode in the filter section (no sample...).
The sound source is based on the new Pink noise oscillator (this is default for both the String and Flute modeling modes). Anyway the volume of the Noise by default is set to 0 and increasing it results in a more "rough" or even distorted sound (especially with String modeling). It is also possible to use any other waveform which could lead to interesting results. By default there is a series of a HPF and the modeling filter but you could also use other filters instead of the HPF.

So this is totally differtent from just using a sampled flute (or string/plucked) sound which would be less interesting indeed.

Thank's teacher, I have understood that by now (and before), and I also know everything about physical modelling, after all, the obviously quite rudimentary "physical modelling" functions of the new version are displayed in that video.

Sorry if i misunderstod your post (e.g. "the video is offputting" or "a cheezy cheezy panflute derivative"...).

All of their videos are terrible. Are we not used to that by now? They are directed at people who are into nightmarishly happy rave-like circus music I think. Actually this one isn't anywhere near as bad as some of their other ones.

True, I'm out of here, shouldn't have gotten into this thread at all...

No problem, I was just ranting without reason...it's a pity one can't discuss about taste and aesthetics, today anything just goes.
