Thanks for the report!

How's that new folder location working out for everybody? Is it working in all your preferred hosts? Both the synth and effect versions?

Post

Also, if everyone could check in with what host software you use, its version, and operating system version, it would be very much appreciated. It doesn't matter if you're running as demo or authorized, it's exactly the same program either way so testing from anyone and everyone is all equally valuable.

Until further notice I'm assuming it's working perfectly in everything! :)

Thanks all!

Working fine in Bitwig 1.13 OSX (whatever the latest one is).

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hmm. 2008 Mac Pro, OSX 10.8.4, LogicX 10.0.3 Trying to load some of my old banks but the red and green load and save buttons aren't working at all for me. I click on them and the text briefly changes colour, but no window opens as previous. Everything else seems fine.

Oh, right you are! How did that manage to sneak out?

That's a bad one (only happening on OS X, Windows versions are fine). We'll have another update VERY soon to fix it. Thanks for the report!

Cool!
I had forgotten how beefy this synth sounded. Fantastic.

Our new copy protection system is now key-file based, and you can use your license key-file on any number of systems (that you yourself currently own). How's that? :)...
you are covered for the current major version and the next major version!...
both products on Half Price Sale during their BETA periods...

I just want to say it's refreshing to see companies taking steps like these! Copy protection, personal use count, upgrade pricing are all a big part of the purchasing decision for me. Often they are the second thing I look at after the sound demos. :)

My hat is off to you Admiral for making these (in my opinion) positive changes!

the only parameters whatsoever i would care about tweaking would be (volume) attack and release and polyphony. Are they included?

Cheers!
Yes and yes. (EDIT: Oh, sorry, I lied. No attack and release. There are 3 envelopes in Poly-Ana, any of which -- or even combination of which -- could be used for filter and/or amplifier attack and release. Or the amps could be in Gate trigger mode, not using any envelope at all. So it was far too much to make available in L'il's reduced interface. A little trick though, you can edit Poly-Ana preset program (*.pap) and bank (*.pab) files by hand in a text editor if you're really careful to stick to the exact same format.)

L'il Poly-Ana isn't included in the 1.20 Beta yet, but it will be soon. If you don't need x64 on OSX, 1.191 should do just fine until we get it added to the 1.20 Beta.

TheoM wrote:I definitely won't fool around with text editors, also i definitely DO need x64 as the only daw i use besides reason in any regular fashion is Logic X.

that said the only thing is the adsr thing (really only a r that troubles me) to be even if in a drop down menu, directly on the interface.

I am a little surprised, because most light version of synths i have tried (the xils stuff, halion light, etc) do include the adsr as kind of an "essential".

Anyway it doesn't matter, i guess the big one right now is the normal price of the little one so it makes more sense.

Ok one last question, do we get the little one or a little version of it with the big one? Cause if i tweak a preset to perfection in the big one, i might then want to open it in the little interface especially on my 15" laptop!
Already explained why it's not possible. Poly-Ana's voice architecture is simply too complex to reduce release time to a single control.

And yes, a Poly-Ana licence will work on L'il too. (But not the other way around, obviously.)

Sounds like you better hang on a while then until we add L'il Poly-Ana to the Beta. L'il Poly-Ana 1.191 is 32 bit only in OSX right now. (It's 32 bit and 64 bit in Windows.)

TheoM wrote:Hey there's no point to lil poly ana as i said, and i am not technical enough to understand the explanation re the adsr. That's not your fault, but mine. What i mean is btw without that there is no point to me to lil cause tweaking adsr is a huge thing to make sounds fit for me. It's ok, the big one it is.

So i tried the big one, just to make sure it can fit on my laptop and my cpu can handle it. And i can't get it to run at all, it comes up with errors about folders that don't exist. Any tips to get the beta running so i can just make sure my now almost 4 year old macbook can deal with it, would be appreciated.
Create that folder.

~/Library/Application Support/Admiral Quality/Poly-Ana/

(Also known as /Users/(Your Username)/Library/Application Support/Admiral Quality/Poly-Ana/ )

It *should* run fine even if you don't create the folder. You'll just get that annoying message and won't be able to save your Options.

Let me know if that does it or if you need any more help. (And sorry about that, it's because Apple are making it so we can't always create folders where we need them anymore. We hope to eventually have an installer script that does it for you.)
