Just bought Diversion. Spire was super cheap when it first came out and I missed it. Not making that mistake again. Get it while it's cheap!

Yes, the price for Diversion is ok, but he must at first fix the oscillator stuff and it needs multi-thread support to lower a bit the CPU usage. Dune2 or Spire is IMO a better option.

Didn't buy it during the last sale and didn't buy Spire during its 'sale'.
Going to pass on it this time too. (Not cheap enough for me to consider).

Which is kind of SPAMming and a little shill-like.
It has the reverse effect of selling me off a product.

All four of the synths seem like good synths to me.
They're just redundant to what I already have and not unique enough to be the first pick in that redundancy.
Anyone of them would be a good pick though.

I made a little play list that included Diversion, Dune 2 and Spire plus Zebra and Virus TI demos. Very unscientific little experiment, but my point was to see if I could pick the Virus TI out of the crowd. (note: I've owned a Virus C when it was the current model, I still own Diversion and Zebra 2)

When I made this setlist I was pretty indiscriminate about the demos. They're all over the place style and volume wise, but so is the music I make and listen to. I've been listening to this playlist for a while and here's what I've concluded.

I think that between Spire, Dune and Diversion, Diversion and Spire win in terms of sound. Dune 2 is still a great sounding synth and if it's less CPU it would make a fine choice. Zebra 2, of course, wins hands down in terms of flexibility and is still an amazing synth. I own Helix too, and even though it wasn't a part of this test, I recommend it. I wish he'd get back to developing it, but it still sounds great to me and doesn't really seem to touch the CPU. The truth is, they're all fine synthesizers.

Spire doesn't seem to acknowledge aftertouch and I think I send a message about that to the developer and never heard back. So, that's a fail in my book but if you don't' care about aftertouch then you'll be fine. Overall I think Diversion is the best choice but you do pay for it in CPU cycles. Best low CPU solution from this list would be Helix.

I sold my Virus TI2 and to be honest, I'm not missing it all that much.

I think you could probably cover a majority of the Virus Ti2 sounds with Dune2,Zebra2, Alchemy and Massive.

I used to think having a VirusTi2 would be the be all end all for me but I changed my mind.

Yeah man, me as well... It was in the early days. But softies have been getting better and better and a lot less hassle.
