I can't help but feel a bit sorry for them. I expect they had been working for a while on it, then Serum comes out!
I don't know if it's true, but I imagine they have a loyal customer base who will buy it. I can understand the appeal of both of their synths. I thought the GUI on element was bad but the sound worked in some places. Anyway, will have to demo this to know if it's any good, but I am sure it will appeal to some even over Serum.

and they in turn can trace the lineage of their 3d wave displays right back to the waveterm and cmiaMUSEd wrote:Yeah but the 3D wavetable display concept wasn't original to Serum anyway, Nave and Wavegenerator both had 3D wavetable displays before that.mysticvibes wrote:only the wave table looks like serum, how long to develop just that? Seems like too much of a coincidence. They were working on a synth, then came serum, they said ooo, the gui likes nice there, recreated it..

Which seems strange to me is that i watched the videos on their website, and while Wavetable synths are (at least, to me) more on the experimental / sound design side, all the sounds i heard were very basic, vanilla, sounds which i could make with any other simple VA synth
The interface looks good (but also, maybe a bit too much on the "already seen 10 thousand times before" side).
To my taste, Serum looks much more appealing (as well as Diversion, Z3ta+,Zebra2, etc) : those synths are a call from the wild, an invitation to explore unknown pleasures in sonic territories...

It is time that the software is finally finished.

I tried it but I'm not a fan of a/ the licencing stuff and b/ the billion emails I received from the company on all aspects of their software within 5 minutes of signing up. It's also one of those VSTs that insists that you click back into the Ableton interface to audition a sound instead of being able to from the vst itself.

I had contacted Rolf recently but will not tell details of the e-mail here (even if the informations were not really much). I had also talked with Stefan Stenzel at the Muiskmesse in March (Rolf was there too AFAIK).PietW. wrote:Ingonator wrote: Besides the current Waldorf plugin updates also Waldorf Nave for PC/Mac is planned (no details and date yet).

All i could say is that it should really come but no date for the beta and release yet.
Another Waldorf softsynth could follow in the future.

meh... not hearing anything special that Z3ta+2 or even Z3ta+ can't do just as well.
also, the name sounds too much like a feminine napkin.
