thanks for the drums.
Check OP for links to init bank / patches. I don't think there's an init.

found it, crazy synth so far, to bad there is no mac version and apple people have to wkr around it.
maybe somebody should tell the dev to add an init, it was driving me crazy :hihi:

Post

O.K., I have done it

So hope that will be sufficient as an announcement, I just love this synth, it has evrything in it for me, never thought I would do presets for myself but with this one you just have to.

I wish you all a great contest, sure you will understand the rules, me just mourning about the (good old...) days where I was:

Standing round the campfire in the dark.....

EDIT: sorry for being a little confused, just the first time its kind of complicated

Track information:

DAW: Mulab 6.2.7

Tracks/Eclipsis: 11 tracks/instances, at last I made a mux with three versions of Ecipsis layered for the soundscape in the background

Presets: some from the original bank, some from my good friend mojo42 (who made the initial preset and bank and is working on a whole new bank, looking for it :) ), and some I made (for the first time ever :) for myself, the celtic/string melody, the percussions, accordeon etc.

Effects/Mastering: I have a mux with MhorseP3 V2/Ferric TDS/Nova 67 P/Youlean Frequency balancer/Limiter No6
:help: QUESTION (maybe bjporter can help again :) : I have just seen that I have inserted one instance of Replica with "Vintage darkness" preset before the mastering mux. Got it as christmas present from NI without money, but of course it ist NOT freeware ? Will delete it if necessary and render the track again without it, sorry, for me it was just in my "free" arsenal....

Automation: too lazy, only one for the track volume

Please ask if any additional information needed

Love to you all,

Richard

wow 2 really good tracks already.
not sure if i can make it: have 4 exams (one oral) and 1 lecture this month to pass.
but after playing with the synth yesterday i liked it a lot, it is crazy how agressvie it can sound on the low end. have not expect something like that from such synth.

time to hurry :wheee:

Spidergod,

Your track is really nice. It's got loads of tension, and it definitely takes you from point a to point b. It's like a slow boat ride through mental catacombs. Also very cinematic.

BTW, I'm new here so I'll just introduce myself. My name's Steve, and I just discovered the OSC. I've started work on a track, but finishing things has never been my forte. That said, what I've got so far sounds like a cross between ELO, Old Black Gospel Hymns, and early 80s electro. Coming from someone who has focused on straight techno his whole life as a musician, this is definitely uncharted territory. Wish me luck.

I'm sure you'll do just fine. Just have fun with it. This is a chance for you to really let your hair down. I can relate to ELO having grown up with them back in the early 70s.

I may actually toss my hat in the ring and give this OSC a shot. What the heck. The worst I can do is come in dead last. LOL

Anyway, good luck with your piece.

Hello

Thanks for the kind words about my track.

Yeah I was always slightly scared about the OSC as I listened to a few of the older ones and the amount of amazing talent entered into them was amazing.

But then I decided to enter my first one (think it was OSC 61) and found everyone very nice with comments and it was a great feeling that my track had got to a new audience.

I cannot wait to hear your track and good luck.

One filter per osc, lots of filter types... this is the closest one can get to diversion in the free vst pool. Does it work well in the mix?

This synth is fighting me :(

1) How can i modulate something (moslty cutoff and resonance) by just velocity, wihtout any wave added? Or am i missing the meaning of the whole mod section of the filter?

2) How can i "remove" the velocity from the AMP? so a sound volume is always the same no matter the velocity?

Excellent! This is all about overcoming Challenges :borg:
Or try all the windows wrappers using Wine... maybe I'll give in and just fire up the Winblows laptop...

EDIT: and it seems like the wine thing has been suggested and beaten to death and doesn't work... thanks Hans. :)
