Omnisphere 2 First Impressions?

1. Holy hell are the sounds hot. I lowered the master volume of Omni to -6db and several sounds still clip. I'll probably keep it around -9db just to get any kind of headroom.

Yes, I noticed the same! Really irritating. I consider it bad sound design when playing a single note hits (or goes past) 0 dB. I only tried a fraction of the new patches yesterday, but seems like many of the hottest ones (in terms of volume) were aggressive EDM type sounds. Does someone think that making them way too loud somehow helps them "cut through the mix" or something...?

i guess at spectrasonics they figure that if a sample doesn't look like a solid block of white noise in the
wave editor they don't think its loud enough?

2. resynthesize it with a bank of sinewaves
3. please try to do this in omnisphere 2
4. change the waveform that all partials use
5. adjust the symmetry and pvar
6. change the levels of the odd and even harmonics
7. done
