Breaking it down seems to have produced a positive result I think. This version is sort of in an ambient/uptempo beat genre. All the suggestions have been satisfied and more.
Noticed you also removed a drum part/section and nicely edited down the tube-marimbaish part @1:06.
It`s found a new face. :D
Again, that was nice of you to do this.
Thanks very much for taking the time to listen to the revised version, annode. Glad it worked for you :)

In the end it took me a little longer than 7 minutes to reshape this, but it was quite an interesting exercise. I had difficulty imagining the track without the lead synth, and once I had removed it, various tweaks and modifications began to suggest themselves, so I tried quite a few permutaions before arriving at the remix that is Paradromic.

I think each piece has its pluses and minuses. I particularly like the middle section of the remix with the percussion stripped away.

I like the space been the parts, it takes discipline to pull that off.

Gets nicely Vangelis-ish near the end.

Very nice, reminds of Ozric Tentacles at their best.
Lately I seem to have developed a predilection for using pads with a vocal character in my tracks. I think the "soft" qualities associated with these sounds helps to maintain the space that your refer to. I think I've also been using less instrument instances over the last year or so, and my mixing technique seems to be a better fit here. I also have a bigger selection of reverb/delay FX available, so I'm spoilt for choice in that department. I really like the 2C reverbs on this more "ambient" sounding stuff, and REFLEXplus is a wonderful tool too.

Thanks very much for the wonderful comments, PatchAdamz. Glad you liked it :)

It is musical and production growth.

More space, less clutter = most listener accessibility.

Again, nice job.
Thanks again for the great comments :) I fear it's going to be much harder to maintain that sparseness/space in my regular Electroprog infused techno. Let's see what happens.

I think your ideas are progressing nicely, I have faith that your "sparseness/space" in you Electroprog will be equally tasty.

you know the key, hard work.....

Its great to see your dedication and perseverance.

Always moving forward... :)
Thanks very much for checking this new version, and for the great comments, PatchAdamz :)

My latest track has a somewhat different sonic character to this

I prefer the original version. I think the kick drum at 1:38 sounds a bit odd on its own. Like it is supporting a more complex part that was muted.
Thanks very much for revisiting this, Frantz. It is much appreciated :)

I think I prefer the original too, although I like the remixed section from 3:20-5:22. I think the stripped-back nature of this section gives the piece better dynamics.

The kick at 1:38 is just a solo from the original drum pattern, and it is a little odd, just to throw you guys off the scent a little

agree with Frantz. the original gets my vote. i would have minimized the kick to a note every other beat of the measure at 1:38 on the new version.
Thanks very much for checking the new one out, Layzer :) I'll probably remix this again sometime next year, when the second album is done. I imagine that will turn out to be a hybrid of these two versions. I'll take a look at the percussion then.

Very enjoyable, and I thought rather Vangelis-ish :)
Thanks very much for persevering with this, folderol. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the wonderful comments :)

Next track will clock in at around 5:05, but you should be suitably attired

And it's nice to hear a lot of different ideas and timbres all inter-relating without things feeling cluttered (something I have a problem with sometimes).

Congrats :)
Thanks very much for checking these out, Sendy. Glad you liked them :)

I'm probably going to remix this again next year, using most of the original, but including the centre section from Paradromic. I think the contrast will work to the track's adaventage.

I'll certainly take prog and cinematic as descriptors :)

Clutter can work out well, in the right context. Right now I'm working on a track which is quite minimal in terms of its instrumentation, so I'm making little tweaks to the sounds, trying to add some disruption.
