Relayer

Relayer sounds great so far to me. However, I get lots of CPU use when the Redux effect is active on some of the factory presets.

Anyone else seeing this? I'm on a 64-bit Windows 8 machine.

Yikes. Yeah, I will be buying this. Diggin' the visual feedback.

Also diggin' That Tuned Comb Cloud C Minor demo. Nice!

Thank's!

Nice.
Reminds me of the Reaktor Core ensemble i finished 2 Days ago.: 8)
(Low CPU-load..GAS-killer..)

To put in rack/chain with (master-)dry-wet mix, in front of the best single/dual delay (100%wet), or build in into Reaktor ensemble to save as whole. (Single/dual delay acts as the tap-pattern-repeater)

4x Full stereo taps.. together with the second delay = Ohmboyz setup
8x Mono-Sum taps = Echoboy style (Echoboy has 16.. but.. that's also not much work to add.
Can has Multifx/pre-post proccessing.
I tried to make it as simple as possible.
Has mini pattern-switch for Gain/Time/Pan and Master(-whole ensemble).
.. and warp.

Sounds fantastic, very interesting to hear how Relayer can be effective and rather versatile just on that peculiar area of tuned comb filter effets (except perhaps the LFO depth range that needs to be reduced at 0.2% to create a convincing vibrato...being tailored for a more generic use, i assume)

no real contender on that ballpark except perhaps the next version of Dronebox to come...

Thank you for this, (once again), helpful tutorial sir...

So not so sure about picking this up yet...

I love it, and I"m hoping that this is not expected behavior. In the image below, no audio is being processed and play has not been enabled in the Live.

All tabs enabled. FX1 is set to Biquad and FX2 is set to Vowel.

Modulation has not been enabled.

Please note, that my CPU meter usually hovers at 3-4% because of the active plugins I keep in my default template... But at 32 steps, the CPU meter in Live is hovering between 38% and 39%.

At 1 step, the CPU meter in Live is at 5%

The CPU increases with the number of steps enabled in Repeat.

The problem for me is that it is the 32 steps options that attracts me to this device. Without it, then its really no better than any other delay plugin. At 32 steps, I think the CPU is too high.

Thank you - vibrato amount levels for tuned combs always have to be very low in order not to destroy the tonality, that is no Relayer related, but expected behavior.

I can confirm that. As noted above, I can't get the AU working in Live, but I see the same behaviour with the VST in Live. In Logic, CPU is O with the same settings.

It appears to be turning on the effects tabs that causes the problem in Live. [Perhaps the dedicated LFOs?]

AU crashes Live (9.1.10, 10.8.5), but not Logic or Numerology. VST fine.
Found a crash at startup today right after the release.
Still, need to check out some stuff, but there will probably be a 1.0.1 tomorrow with this fixed.
Probably your AU issue.
Yes, at startup. Thanks for looking into it. Another Live problem ^^^.

Logic only uses CPU when audio passes through a plugin, in standby mode it is not eating any CPU cycles.

Interested..How much different is this than echoboy? Are they a complement to each other? or does UVI replace it?
There ya have it...

It seems to be due to how much you are modulating the steps, not so much the number or fx active...

*Edit: Yeah I dunno, it doesn't seem too consistent, but I can get cpu use pretty low with everything active and all taps on. It does this in Bitwig as well btw... I am still quite pleased with it, it seems to only be
a problem when doing stuff I wouldn't really do anyway...

Noticing that all sound toys effects have drop price significantly the comparison might interest me too...
