We wont know that until we know what OS is on the Laptop. If it was Windows 7 on the Laptop, then its possible its still a compatibility problem but with Windows 8.

Well, i use the same driver with the same FW and the same OS on Win8.1 but who knows.

Hi again, I see the discussion so thought I'd enlighten you.

The laptop was indeed win7 X64 Acer aspire s3. The PC is win8.1 X64 and hasn't been upgraded to win10 yet as I wanted to resolve the current issues.
