Not quite so attractive as you can get a VERY nice modular for that price

Its big- maybe too big for a lot of bedroom studios...but I applaud Arturia for doing this (as I did with the Minibrute, which is sat next to me as I type this) and I really hope they have a hit- innovation and risk taking like this deserves to be rewarded. Just need to hear a realy good demo of the sound....

Well, the street price should be closer to $1800 or below. Not a terrible price for what you (seem) to get. Not for me, even though I entertained the idea. I don't want to get sucked into hardware too much and mostly want a sampler and a synth to accompany my Analog RYTM. A4 and Octatrack are the obvious choices there.

I think about it more like eurorack control center rather than a synth on its own. 12 CV outputs and presets changed on a fly? What other product does that?

Good video actually. Makes a change from the usual bedroom dance guff. Hopefully some nice reviews will come out soon. Nick from Sonicstate usually does useful vids.

I don't think the video is bad. They use synths in rock bands too, ya know? At least it's not full of wubwub bass or some hyper drum and bass loops.

The grid looks great for switching presets... no dials or menus needed

And it makes a massive step sequencer

And a very impressive modulation matrix which can be output out the CV... so you can send one CV signal which is a combination of aftertouch, velocity and an LFO

It's a unique product

I thought the same thing... way too expensive for me. But I just saw that Sweetwater is asking $1999. So, yeah, not exactly pocket change, but then not necessarily something that is completely out of reach. Heck, I have owned (and still own) a few synths that originally cost more, so I'm psyched! This probably won't be something that I am going to aim for, or at least not for a little while, but it's nice to know that it's out there. Kudos to Arturia on this one, it looks ultra cool and the features are cool!

I think they did something pretty great with the design, but for me, already owning a minibrute, that is the same price as Roland System 500 which is on the wishlist too, and would rather have the System 500. You could also get 4 Mother 32's for near that price.

Not to say the price isn't right for it. It has all the goodies to justify the price, it's just that competition is tough for what it does as a mono/para/duo synth.

The design is cool though. Mod matrix looks great. One to one buttons on presets - nice.

Step sequencer and mod matrix, cv out control, etc all great stuff too, but wow the synth market is full of gems lately.

From what I read there, those are the input specs .. I want the output ranges. I'm concerned that the output range is 0/5v, which doesn't work with a lot of MU that want 0/10v or +-5v
