cool, and all the best the the young 'un

Nice choon. Good acid stuff. Plenty of things going on and load of variation. I think the drums could be more punchy though and maybe more to them. Try putting a percussion pattern in the background.

Thanks CypherOne - thats nice to hear!
But in all honesty it was judicious sampling that made that track work, but when it comes to a less cluttered sound I cant reproduce the instrumentation, programming with feel and the sense of space without sounding flimsy - all that you have here.
Maybe its horses for courses but I'm still envious... :)

Right, this may look like another shameless bump, but it's not.

Quite a few of you guys (shitloads more than I expected) quite liked this tune. The most common sticking point was the snare. Snares are my biggest problem. I have loads of samples, but can I find one I'm happy with?

I appreciate most of you have probably tired of the track (I know I almost have :) ), but can anyone be arsed to put up an example of the type of snare they would like to see in this track? Please?

See, I was quite pleased with that snare, i.e. it was the best I could find - but no doubt I've missed something, so please, help me out guys.

Yours,
Frustrated of England

I'd still go for a synthetic snare sound - you could easily make your own snare... with Microtonic :)

And if I'm using Microtonic, it must be easy to do

Credit where credit is due, this track is still rockin my speakers. On of KVR's finest 8) :D 8)

I found another tiny thing tho. The tamb is a little tight sounding. Its 3 hits i think, i'd be inclined to drop the vol on the first and last hit to make it swing in and out of each bar a litlle. Know what i mean?

Cant get enough of this tho, and the mrs loves it too :D :D :D

Blimey Krim, that's a real compliment coming from you. I don't want to start some gaylord backslapping shit but you are my KVR musical hero so that really means a lot!

I will get to work on this over the weekend, really appreciate the constructive feedback and pointers (although I give up a bit - the snares staying!). Dunno when it'll get uploaded again tho 'cos Glassback hosts and he'll be off his head most of the weekend I expect

I know what you mean. I rarely go back and change things, even if i get good advice. Once a track is done, its done. Maybe i should take some of that advice and improve my tracks, but im a stubborn git

If you need hosting, i got loadsa room for the odd track or two, just gimme a nod

CypherOne - That track is the dogs mate! I love my breakbeat and that's just top stuff, quite minimal and clean, but with just enough edge. And love the little background tweaks and FX.

Gimme some more! :D
