I would try remaking an instrumental you really like...you've been only been producing for a few months, just give it some time and keep working...
But I think the first thing you should really do is finish a song from start to finish first. That'll probably help some

Interesting. Could you describe bit more presicely what do you mean by "drives me nuts"?zenophilix wrote:Probably a good idea...Lejurai wrote:You should consider some serious meditationchk071 wrote:Feeling demotivated is kind of a permanent state for me, with everything.Personally, meditation always drives me nuts, but maybe it'd be worth a shot again.(Been at this for three years now...)
Earlier I meditated with method of sitting on the floor comfortably in lotus position, closing my eyes and focusing to my breathing. It works great but now I decided to try something different so now I do zen meditation. Which means that I sit on the floor but I force my spine straigth and stare to one point until the world just blurs around that spot and later everything becomes light.
Makes wonders to your creativity and your life in generally

Thanks for the tip. I doubt that would work for me though (actually i tried relaxation methods a couple of time). I'm just a nervous, troubled mind by nature, i guess.
I do think those things only work for you anyway, if you are convinced that they work, and if you are naturally able to put yourself in such a state of mind. People who suffer from depressions (i do too from times to times) probably won't be as receptive, or able to apply such methods.

Exactly, one really needs to deal with reality, because you can't escape it, it's there waiting for you.
But on music forum about music, just enjoy making music for doing it sake, man, can't count the times when I felt joy just looking at Logic, only memories of times when I had blast in this grey area made me feel great, good stuff
Feel awesome now just thinking about thinking about it.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Making music really helps fighting depression - that's tried and tested.chk071 wrote:Thanks for the tip. I doubt that would work for me though (actually i tried relaxation methods a couple of time). Reallly mate, you have decent knowledge and understanding of current synths, you have good taste to good sounds (I guess so because you love Spire and Virus
Reality sucks, screw it
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Actually, that's one of the reasons i like to fiddle with synths. To plunge into unreal soundscapes, and atmospheres. At least, i have the most fun doing that.

Sometimes i like to think that nothing is real, just for fun, and usually when coming down from that mindset - motivation starts to creep in. Granted, it's a little pretentious to think that nothing is real outside of your own perceptions, but when creativity is involved i don't see the harm.Zexila wrote:Exactly, one really needs to deal with reality, because you can't escape it, it's there waiting for you.![]()

Yeah, for sure, whatever works and delivers, that line was aimed on depression tho.Ridan wrote:Sometimes i like to think that nothing is real, just for fun, and usually when coming down from that mindset - motivation starts to creep in. Music making for me is like keeping my childhoods imagination world, there was no goal, just playing, so yeah, my interests shifted over time (making it big and all that jazz), but I'm back to happy place, no goals, just joy.
