I've always thought the beatles sound so much like elvis
I can't even listen to sgt pepper
Not as sad as completely and utterly missing the point. I like what I like and up till recently I hadn't liked Tori Amos but then I heard this one song I was blown away by which made me think maybe I haven't done her justice. So I thought the best and perhaps fairest way to learn more about her material would be to ask her fans, of whom their appear to be many, what they feel are her best songs so I can listen to them and make up my own mind from a more informed perspective. It's called trying to keep an open mind, it's not about getting advice re what to like.Jaeson_Merrill wrote:there is one very sad fact borne out by this thread....that people need advice as to what music to like.
pathetic indeed.
Not really. The fairest way would be to buy her CD's and judge for yourself. So I thought the best and perhaps fairest way to learn more about her material would be to ask her fans
Sounds like an expensive way of finding out if you like someone's music. I buy CD's that I know I'm going to want to keep - I don't have money to throw away so recommendations from her fans gives me a place to start. I'm willing to trust the opinions of those who know her music well to give me enough of an overview to be going on with - if I found I liked a whole load then I would buy a CD.Karsten Viese wrote:Not really. Why does it matter what fans think of her.
Obviously they are going to like which you dont as a starting point. So there inst really much we can do to convince you (not that we want to) is there?
Just go buy a CD.
