Live 4.0...I've seen the light!

Highlight the area you want to zoom in on and hit the + key, Live will zoom in on that area alone without you having to scroll along the Overview.

That won't get me to the desired zoom level instantly, it's still successively approximating the zoom level. That's exactly what I am criticising. Believe me, if you watch a 'poweruser' navigating Logic or ProTools, then you know what I am talking about.
But as I said, I am sure that's one of the next things that will be addressed in Live - because Live from the start has been all about workflow.

O.K. maybe I'd like to be either in Session view or Arrange... One or the other, without this focus thing constantly popping up! Seems like if I want to record the session into arrange, I could just select a button and turn it on.. otherwise the controls would be for the view that is active... It would be less confusing for me anyway... I mean there is a global record, a clip record etc. I'm aware of the dual purpose approach and the arrange change button etc. but, I think that now there is midi, they should seperate the two views logically for people who want to use one or the other with the option to record sessions into arrange too... but with dedicated controls...

See, that's what makes Live so outstanding: There is a very simple solution to your problem.
In the Master channel there is a "Stop Clips" button. Click that once, and automatically the Arrange is completely bypassed, since there was a "action" on all tracks. Easy, isn't it?
