Once you do this, the guy doing the show will more than likely seek a commission for the place he works & then you get refered to other places & then you're the f**king Carl Sagan of the Planetary Keys & all the little kiddie's mum's are gonna love you & the dad's are gonna wanna know if you use starch on your collar & you'll be intreviewed on BBC (right after Stuart Gordon

Sounds like a great opportunity, just tape some keys down & sit back & enjoy fame in the circle of the Initiates. All that astronomy music is so bo-bo, you'll be the new Demi-urge amongst em..

i'm thinking this would be a job for Reaktor grain fx and wouldn't this be a lot easier as a performance piece, than recorded? that way there's be some possibility of matching mood, presentation, whatever.
just fade from one loop to another as needed.
and the hard drive wouldn't be burdened.

in any case there's no one better suited.
i don't expect to get a 3 hour piece to stream from a web site, but i'd be interested in how you end up managing this.

Assuming a belief in the Big Bang, I would split it up musically into the main phases of the universe's alleged development;

Pre-silence of the Big Bang
The Big Bang
Inflation/the Hubble constant
entropy
The Big Chill
Degeneration of Matter (omega naught)

Doing that would also allow you to split it into like 6 30 minutes clips, which would be far easier to handle..and follow a faithful course relative to the subject matter.

Vurt, if you have it, fire up Vokator, it's an amazing tool,the spektral effects will give you a lot of odd sounds out of anything.
