in a $80 app. Not a bad deal.

That's me, the instigator!DevonB wrote: Dammit! Now you got my curiosity up.
Two things. First, you might have read that someone on the Tracktion forum was doing a hack to allow resizeable windows. (Don't quote me on that, I just remember something vaguely like that.)I remember thinking "hmm.. I thought people said it didn't do dual monitors..." but I could. Go download the demo... take a look... Maybe I'll get around to in in the next couple of days, if I remember and have some time. Doubtful, but we'll see.![]()
Like I said, my Matrox drivers allow me to treat both monitors like a single display. For example, dialog boxes that normally pop up in the center of your screen pop up in the middle between both monitors, so half is on one screen, half is on the other. A little annoying but workable. I don't see how a driver like that would stop you from doing dual monitor, as it's just a large resolution (2560x1024 is what I'm running in)db wrote:Apart from that, if you get it working for two monitors, must be your Matrox. (I'm using 2 x19" CRTs-ViewSonic A90f+ and Nec Multisync 95 using an ATI Radeon 9000Pro 128Mb)
I bookmarked the page and have only scanned it so far. Are these Acuma progs like Final Mix only for Tracktion, vsti, or other? Oh, wait, I see that they are 'specifically designed for use with the Mackie Universal Effects (UFX) card.'AD80 wrote:Another Pro for Tracktion. $300 Mastering plug-in

Yes, but is that only for MS compliant windows programs? If a program like Tracktion which is not normally resizeable can be spread over two screens,DevonB wrote: Like I said, my Matrox drivers allow me to treat both monitors like a single display.
My Radeon software doesn't have that problem. It allows you to choose where you want the dialogs to appear: Screen 1, Screen 2, centred, same screen as the app, same screen as the mouse. Your choice. For example, dialog boxes that normally pop up in the center of your screen pop up in the middle between both monitors, so half is on one screen, half is on the other. Ya lost me here!I don't see how a driver like that would stop you from doing dual monitor, as it's just a large resolution (2560x1024 is what I'm running in)
I know I can choose it somewhere in there. I jsut figured middle was easier to get to, or at least faster. I'll have to look for 'same screen as mouse' though.db wrote:My Radeon software doesn't have that problem. I dont know anything about the UFX card and I'm not in the market for a UAD or Powercore right now. All I know is Tracktion users get this plug-in for FREE to use within Tracktion NATIVELY with no card. For a app that costs 80bux thats not a bad deal at all.db wrote:I bookmarked the page and have only scanned it so far. Are these Acuma progs like Final Mix only for Tracktion, vsti, or other? I don't know the price of the UFX, but why not buy one of the other UAD or TC type cards instead? If you went that way, it wouldn't matter which host you used. Hmmm....???
so what does that really say about the plug?AD80 wrote:Another Pro for Tracktion. $300 Mastering plug-in

That is the key thing for me...finally Tracktion has a serious *Native hardwired* plug. The signs are good for T2.To be honest I would have thought Mackie would hold this back for T2, thankfully they have not.AD80 wrote:db wrote:AD80 wrote:Another Pro for Tracktion. $300 Mastering plug-in

Just had my first play with the plug: seems like a serious mastering tool to me..bluedad wrote:so what does that really say about the plug?

Hmm hmm.. I dumped Logic for the PC and SONAR for Tracktion. Got 2 tunes done in Logic, 1 in SONAR.. and hmm.. what, eight now in Tracktion? One of which I managed to blast out in 3 hours, start to finish? And that in the past 4 months, whereas the Logic and SONAR ones took over six months?bluedad wrote:so what does that really say about the plug?AD80 wrote:Another Pro for Tracktion. $300 Mastering plug-in
