Airwindows: which effects are the „must use“ ones?

Anyone using these on Cubase / Win 10? For some reason, I´m not able to type values in the fields where possible - as soon as I hit enter, the slider resets to the lowest possible value. This happens in Cubase Pro 8.5 & 10, so I opened a ticket with Steinberg. They say to check with the manufacturer, as other plugins work as expected with the default GUI.
I´d like to rule out a fail on my system, so is anyone having this issue in Cuvase / Win 10 and Airwindows plugins?
Thank you

Of course he has seen these eventualities. That's why he is basically letting those that aren't paying for the plugins to use them, anyway. People will either pay or not, so he has nothing to gain by withholding the software from those who won't pay. But none of that changes the fact that he is clearly making these to sell, and every one of the Patreon donation thresholds alludes to this fact:Unaspected wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2019 1:02 pmThis is where we see things differently on this matter. I don't think anyone is taking advantage of Chris as he would have foreseen these eventualities.
Pledge $4.16, and it ends up $50 a year.
My plugins sold for years at $50 each. If you could afford to buy one of them a year, and I've given you one over the last year that you'd totally pay that for, I would like you to pledge this.
Clearly, a lot of people are under the impression that these plugins are free, and that the odd coffee tip would help. I know this, because I regularly see comments that Airwindows' plugins are free. I think the Patreon site and his videos make it clear that the plugins are meant to be bought, but if people really have got it confused, then that's an unfortunate situation, f'sure. I'm referring to those who know the spirit in which this is set-up, but take advantage (I guess that's just my opinion)

Just put me on ignore, or report me. I don't really intend to post in this thread again, but I'll no doubt offend you elsewhereCalenberger wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2019 1:20 pm May I kindly ask you both to discuss your stuff in private or in an other thread?
I‘m really interested in AIRWINDOWS, but not in your dispute.
Thanks!

I'm on Win7 with Cubase 10 and have the same. Slider resets to the lowest value when you type in values. Tried some Airwindows plug-ins inside BlueCat Patchwork and the same thing is happening.JulsnJVM wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2019 1:57 pm Anyone using these on Cubase / Win 10? So i'm guessing it's an Airwindows thing...
It's also impossible to reset values to zero with alt, ctrl or shft click.

Airwindows is almost everything great and amazing, I'm on FL Studio to write orchestral/synth stuff and this is all I need, with the DAW factory plugins
. Here is what I use most often (some plugins recently added):
Texturize/Silhouette for fattening the sound with punchy noise
ZRegion2 or other Z plugins, for having a nice hyper but not pumping parallel sat on the bass/lomids.
Mackity/MidAmp for amping, it is a great distortion on synthesizers.
DeRez2/Nikola/ElectroHat for bitcrushing of course.
Tape/Deckwrecka/Thunder for fattening compressors.
ButterComp2/Elation/VariMu for soft compressors.
Focus/HighImpact/Loud/Blockparty are super good distortions, add clarity.
Bite/Density2 are very unique saturators, for a unique sound!
ClipOnly2/NC-17/Pafnuty/Podcast are great for the master channel.
StereoEnsemble if you have a little sound and want to stereo-ize in a huge way, this is the tool.
Holt2 is new, but I find it simulates the bass that you hear in medium metal concert rooms, works for live recordings.
BitShiftGain/PurestGain are great, for 60+ dB of gain reduction/addition.
Nonlinearspace/Galactic/MatrixVerb/Infinity2/BrightAmbience3 are all reverb types you need.
Of course I use a lot of the others too, You might ask why and how I use them all :surprised: but I think it's better if you download the whole bundle and see the strengths and weaknesses of each and every plugin. I have 130+ stems for the mixes always so it's not so much a big list actually if you think about it. By the way, I don't know if I can redistribute, but i've made a folder with the Airwindows bundle SORTED and LABELED (with what they do). Here's a link:

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

I use Purest Gain and its counterpart Purest Fade quite a bit. It replaced One Knob Louder and the stock Logic gain plugin because I could get what I needed more easily. I often automate them as well. Simple and all the gain (or fade) you need.

I always use at least three Airwindows plugins:
Console7/8 (7 is easier to set up, 8 has a larger effect) to glue up the mix a bit;
BussColors4 as a "preamp" of sorts. Channel9 can do the same thing but it has fewer options and it is much more subtle, and also Desk4 can be useful;
PurestGain/BitShiftGain as simple gain plugins.
Then I always use Capacitor2, oversampled at 96kHz because of its weird notch at 1/3 of the sampling rate, and making use of its nonlinearity features (adds a bit of character);
TapeDelay2 is a pain to set up (no BPM sync, no ms reading) but it sounds very nice.
XRegion/ZRegion is a wonderful distorted filter (I think I prefer the former though).
Hull/Holt are weird filters that can work well in more electronic stuff.
BrightAmbience3 is fantastic on synths.
His amp sims (especially GrindAmp, MidAmp and TinyAmp) are really nice, and sometimes more effective than the big guns (eg. Amplitube, TH-U).
Density2 and Spiral2 are very nice saturators, and also Tube2 is nice, but there are plenty of options in this regard.
ADClip2 (I think) is a very characterful clipper. It's a bit dark and midforward, but it can work well on the right track.
Acceleration2 sometimes is a good way to tame the treble somewhat.
IronOxide and ChromeTape are wonderful lo-fi tapes. FromTape also sounds good. I don't really like his ToTape plugins though.
ButterComp2 used lightly has some nice bus gluing qualities, although I rarely use it. In general I'm not a fan of his compressors.

For me it's:
ADClip7, just the best clipper I've used, can really slam drums into them for loud club genres. Make sure to set soften to 0 as it introduces funky low end stuff.
ZLowpass2 and Zhighpass2, amazing for extra vibe on a drum buss, can make something boring sound like a record
Those 3 i use all the time.

Interesting thread as I did not know he used to sell his plugins for £50. I have been a patreon of Chris for a year or too now but only send him a couple of £ each month. I actually should use his plugins more as only really used nc17 up to this point. He creates so much stuff I find it confusing what does what and its a bit overwhelming with so much available.
