Agreed. I just can't trust the group editing feature at all and I'd be using it routinely if I could. The track alignment function is also half baked although it improved somewhat with a previous update. I'd just like to get this stuff working so we can rely on the tools like we can with most of the core features of the software. Steinberg does a good job of stomping on most of the show-stopping bugs.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:57 pmThat's such a ridiculous bug. The first time I did some multi-track guitar editing in Cubase I managed to completley screw up the comp because Cubase gets completely confused and does weird shit if each take isn't the exact same length. Complete nonsense.Scotty wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:46 pm Give me please, a top to bottom overhaul of the graphics to make all aspects high hdpi ready... make group editing work so it doesn't fail with track versions and lane movement .
Cubase 10.5 is here now....

There has been a poll in august on the cubase forum, and the top ten most wished features were this:
1 Move tracks within the MixConsole
2 Export to Video
3 Chord Detection from audio
4 Polyphonic audio editing
5 Stereo effects on mono channels
6 Bezier curves in MIDI editor
7 Open all Plug-ins of one track in one Window with tabs
8 General improvements to MIDI Editor
9 Smart tools for MIDI editing
10 Automation shown directly on tracks
Sprouted some discussion of course, because everybody found something that was completely irrelevant for them. Personally I’d agree on a lot of the top ten, but couldn’t care less about video export or chord detection (i have ears, don’t I?)
I think this shows that cubase has a rather heterogenous user base from very different parts of the music making spectrum. Mustn’t be easy to cater to all of them...

Personally I hope for workflow and GUI improvements only.
Better Session Data import
Better organized menus.
Drag midi region to audio track for a quick bounce.Docked Mixer showing Fader Inserts and sends at the same time.
Shortcut for Join command
Drag copy plugins from anywhere to everywhere like S1 etc...

Love Cubase. I have faithfully upgraded since V. 2. Whatever they do to it, I will happily upgrade as there's always one or two things that pop up as a pleasant surprise. Regardless, these two things are on my wish list:
1. Please return the "fill loop" and similar functions to the right mouse click. Having to get there through the "edit" drop down menu is a pain.
2. I'm a fan of the Beat Designer MIDI plug. But it would be 1,000 % more useful with the ability to import and export standard MIDI files.
Cheers

Can't you get to the same menu by right clicking and holding down the "Alt" button?BERFAB wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 4:56 pm1. Please return the "fill loop" and similar functions to the right mouse click. Having to get there through the "edit" drop down menu is a pain.
If you go through, "Preferences", "Editing", and "Tools" you can check or uncheck the "Pop-up Toolbox on Right-Click" and it will change the default action of your right click.
Does that help you?

That is why Cubase 10 was one of my least favourite releases from SB.

I searched endlessly for a way to get this feature back. When I get back to my studio this evening, I will see if your suggestion works. Thanks for the tip.kb420 wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 5:35 pmCan't you get to the same menu by right clicking and holding down the "Alt" button?BERFAB wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 4:56 pm1. No problem. If that fixes it, let me know. I think I remember having the same problem when 10 first came out, but I found a video online that showed me where that setting is.BERFAB wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 7:04 pmI searched endlessly for a way to get this feature back. Nope. Doesn't fix it.kb420 wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 7:19 pmNo problem. If that fixes it, let me know. If I turn off the "tool box on right click" in preferences, it does look familiar. However, the "FUNCTIONS" that appears in the right click is different than the "FUNCTIONS" that appears in the EDIT dropdown menu. The EDIT dropdown menu FUNCTIONS contains "duplicate," "fill loop" and "repeat" functions. The right click FUNCTIONS does not. I couldn't find a way to add those commands there either.
Thanks

I see what you mean. Well, all I can say is, "Duplicate" does show up if you have something selected. As far as using "Fill Loop", and "Repeat", it looks like the "Edit" menu is the only way to access them. "Ctrl D" is a Key Command for duplicate, and if you grab the "middle of the right side edge" of the audio that you want to duplicate, you can left click and drag and make as many duplicates as you want. I know these are things that you probably already know, but I'm just trying to help out.BERFAB wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 2:54 amNope. Doesn't fix it.kb420 wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2019 7:19 pmNo problem.
