That's probably the most funny comment I have read the entire week :D

IIRC, they actually did a re-write (whatever that means exactly) with either Cubase 9 or Cubase 10, I don't remember.

If anything, there are legacy features in the DAW.

Post

Point is how some feature is implemented, not how old it is, of course it's expected for the DAW to have core consistency, but still there's plenty of room to improve in every way, most things aren't set in stone or would alienate old users by actually refining and improving them, worst thing is leaving half ass job behind and treating it as complete feature.

Are their room for improvements? Of course. But what I personally love about Cubase is workflow, which is great for how I work but may not be for others.
I have tried Reaper, hated it.
Fruity Loops. Hate it.
Live.. Really hated it.

...
Yeah, same here. I really don’t have a problem with the general workflow, some people say that it has poor drag&drop compared to e.g. S1, but personally I prefer to keep my hands on the keyboard and use the mouse only when really necessary... I even would prefer to use less mouse, I want a command shell!
I like Cubase and don’t want to switch to another DAW, I’ve tried that some years ago and just realized that there are just as many things that annoyed me in other DAWs as in Cubase... not worth the hassle.

I am quite curious about how many more of the most requested features from the polls on the cubase forum will be implemented this time, they did some with the last update, so one definitely cannot say that “Steinberg doesn’t listen to its users”... they’ve upped their game in that respect, but Cubase has a very diverse user base, so it is hard to please everyone.

Looking forward to an update on the sampler. I have tried multiple DAWs and always end up back with Cubase. Excited for the release

Post

For what its worth last week someone posted a .pdf users manual online of cubase pro 11. It looked like something that escaped the document shop before it was ready for prime time. Many editing marks/highlights, etc.

In a nutshell,
Improved audio export options
Improved sampler track.
Midi cc ramps & curves.
MIDI changes, etc.
Improved dpi scaling.

Post

I just want the "Mixer always on top" option to come back.

Post

I would love to see something similar to a Logic Environment in Cubase.
Also a multi-touch mixer would be great.

I updated to Cubase 10.5 but did not activate it.
Best to do this after Cubase 11 is released?

Post

This is getting exciting - note these are listed as Cubase Artist Improvments... Pro would normally have enhanced versions of these features.

Nice. Never quite got why they restrict the amount of tracks in a 300 € plus software that much.

hopefully they'll fix the audio alignment in version 11

I would wait, but it's probably in the grace period which is usually a few weeks before release. I bought the upgrade a few days ago but won't activate probably until February when I can get my studio back up again.

(edit - wow, thought your name sounded familiar. Search shows I helped you back in 2005 and 2010 on PC builds. :) )

I do not recall the specifics but you had helped me before.
Thanks.
Now on a new built see my signature.

To be safe I will wait till after Cubase 11 is released and then activate it.
