The worst update I recall was when Gibson acquired Opcode and killed StudioVision that way… All other updates, even those DAWs I never looked at, added something… As StudioVision wasn’t listed, I tried Reaper, which I don’t regret at all…

8 was the first version of Live I used. I completed a number of tracks with it, but kept returning to Cubase whenever I found Live lacking a feature I needed. Was 8 a step backward from the prior version in some way? I've not really used DAWs that aren't Cubase or Nuendo.
The worst here, by_far, is Cubase 11. It's settled down since I went w. Big Sur, which is odd and probably merely coincidental to something I don't quite grok.
