I want to avoid aturia when possible (I don't like their Arturia Software Center), but they would be my last resort when there isn't something else.

Any other recommendation for a very nice sounding character filter like some EMU filters or very creamy and colored analog emulations? I want to control it mainly manually, so I don't care for crazy modulation things (a simple lfo or so is not bad to have of course).
Crank up the level input on the drop to make it sound brutal.
Emu filters ( assuming you mean the emulator ) are anything but analogue sounding.
Imho the drop is still the one to beat , every interesting filter is in there .
Now if u-he would make a zebrify version of zebra-HZ .. that would be totally awesome

Yes, I'm not sure if the distortion is well emulated or not, but it doesn't sound good for me. Pushing things into saturation doesn't give me a good result on the drop. For resonant things or modulation it's perfect of course.

I said colored filter like emu or very colored analog that add a sound. :)

+1 for u-he. Diva filters as FX would be great.

I will check NI Driver.

+1 for Zebrify. Albeit a strange and unsuspecting package.
I hope U-he continues to make their filters and other effects accessible. I think their stuff sounds great; I'm impressed by how subtle their effects can be too.

Btw, supposedly, the upcoming Runciter will have a couple tricks in store as well.
