If it was that simple. It's in fact a cancel culture-class phenomenon.FapFilter wrote: Sat Feb 05, 2022 7:06 pm Your “problem“ is simply that you don't use photo realistic GUIs of convincingly vintage looking gear which was used on Michael Jackson's Thriller…![]()
And please… don't do it… ever!![]()
Which is your fav plate reverb in 2023?

I have UAD EMT 140, Little Plate, Rev Plate-140 to name a few, along with other plugs that have “plate” emulations and the one thing I’ve noticed is depending on the audio I’m sending them, each one isn’t great on absolutely everything. Lately I’ve been like Seventh Heaven for plates. My two cents.

For me it's Perfect Plate XL (for vintage-y sounds) and Lustrous Plates (for "cinematic" sounds).
Shoutouts to Little Plate, but I always wish there was a more in-depth version. Transatlantic Plate sounds great as well, but has been very unstable for me on M1.

You need a catchy slogan for your (magnificent) plugs. here's one :Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Sat Feb 05, 2022 7:17 pm If it was that simple. It's in fact a cancel culture-class phenomenon.![]()

I still think GlissEQ is the best EQ, slogan or not, and the GUI works really well. Aleksey I appreciate your work.

Youtubers, meh.Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Sat Feb 05, 2022 4:23 pm OldSkoolVerb is better than most, but the HiCut needs some tweaking. As I'm its author, no arguing on my side. Voxengo is not in the rooster of most youtubers...![]()

"Now let me go ahead and quit talking and show you some sounds"

CRTIV Reverb is amazing
And as for GUIs... Voxengo GUI's allow more customization than any other. That makes your GUI's the best.

The Transatlantic Plate, IKM Sunset and Acustica SIlver B are probably more "realistic" but there's just something about it. I particularly love it on drums and bass. The whole 'true stereo' thing makes it sound so lively.

It's not a spring reverb. It's not a "lame" reverb, but it is fairly simple, close to the "first generation of digital reverbs", e.g. it does not have modulation, no FDN components. Its "plate" sound is quite good IMO (at lower "Space" and "HiCut" settings); with "plate" sound itself being "old school" as well.MogwaiBoy wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:52 pm but I admit I have not really experimented with OldSkoolVerb much. Maybe I should. I thought it was a spring reverb or some kind of vintage digital Alesis emu or something?
..Underdog? No, I do not feel like that, but some things do not add up big time.

It's all fancy GUIs and huge marketing budgets - you know... savvy well-produced videos, celebrity endorsements, fulltime interns working on social media channels, etc.Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 3:18 am ..Underdog? No, I do not feel like that, but some things do not add up big time.
There will always be those of us who value sound before looks - and for sound quality nothing beats Voxengo.
Next time I'm reaching for a reverb I'm going OldSkool - give it a try

I think its dynamic section is one of the most fun to work with among all EQs, it works like a charm. TDR is great, but requires a bit more effort.Agreed wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 7:55 pm I still think GlissEQ is the best EQ, slogan or not, and the GUI works really well. Aleksey I appreciate your work.

Producer's website endorsements/featured artists is another thing. On the Voxengo website, almost all artists are actual customers with a known "billing" name. (but not all, admittedly, but I'm not seeing a problem giving a NFR in exchange, as I do give NFRs for various promotional reasons anyway, to magazines, for example)
