bduffy wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 2:43 am I think I found a bug with T-Compressor. Here are the steps to reproduce, if anyone wants to verify:

1. Insert T-Compressor
2. lower the threshold until there is gain reduction (in the VU and red GR meter)
3. Switch attack mode from Slow to Fast
4. Gain reduction will suddenly lower by about 80%
5. Switch attack mode back to slow
6. Gain reduction will completely stop
7. Lower threshold another 10-20dB to get similar GR as before.

It seems like the input levels/threshold gets arbitrarily reset by the attack mode switch.

I'm curious if anyone else is seeing this. Cheers!
With fast attack mode selected, you are more likely to get more gain reduction amount as of course you will have a faster range of attack speed, while besides that it also depends on the compression amount value (the big knob in the center). Cause the ratio changes as you change the compression value, as well as both attack and release speed ranges.

We could not reproduce that issue the way you described it. Could you please be more specific on that?

Thank you!

Amin
Hey Amin!

Check out the gif below. Once I switch back to fast attack, the threshold appears to get reset and I have to lower the threshold again to get gain reduction. This happens on all formats (VST3, AAX and AU). I'm on a 2019 Intel iMac running Big Sur.

I was hoping to write a review for my channel while it's on special, but I'd like to clear this up first.

Okay, got it. Yeah, actually I was testing on a newer updated version we're releasing, and it's working correctly on that.
So this is already fixed, but thanks for the feedback! The new update is on the way with a lot of enhancements.

Great news, thanks Amin!

You're welcome! :)

OK, you guys are gonna hate me, but I have one more quirk to work out:

I noticed that I have the lower the threshold far lower than other compressors to get similar gain reduction.

I included a picture below. T-Compresser is way down at -36dB to get about 3-5dB of GR, where Rcomp is only down at -10dB. Thoughts?

Because it operates in a different way than other compressors. ;)

Hey guys! :)
Hope you're having a great Monday.

Check out the new tutorial video I made for using the T-Compressor on drums.

Hope you find it useful. More videos are on the way ;)
