Wow, that was quick even by iZotope's standards. From jrrshops' Uncle E
iZotope have made further reductions to the Neutron 4 and Music Production Suite 5 introductory sale, including the Neutron 4 Upgrade for $99 (normally $199 and was previously on sale for $149).
That has to be an all time record for a price drop - 9 DAYS. Guess Neutron 4 wasn't exactly flying off the shelves.

When it's a $49 upgrade I might consider it. What do you think - Monday?

It was the only reason I opted to upgrade to MPS 4.1...will wait for Black Friday izotope offers yet again.

I'm still seeing $149 just for the Neutron update in my offers which is crazy, and $299 for MPS5 (that's from 4.1) which is stacked with filler plugins from PA I don't need and 2 Exponential Reverbs that I have no confidence they are developing anymore.

That's odd, $99 in mine (and a big banner headline on their home page). $299 for MPS5 tho.

Agreed. I have the BX plugins already and MPS 3 and could care less about the Exponential 3D Reverbs. So $299 to upgrade RX and Neutron , no thanks. When it costs less to upgrade 2 DAWs than it does to upgrade a few plugins it's time to move on.

I’m also getting a $149 loyalty upgrade price on Izotope’s own site (despite owning Neutron 3 Advanced and many other Izotope plugins). However, I see that the $99 upgrade deal is available to me (and everyone) on Audiodeluxe (and I’m sure other third party retailers).

I like and often use Izotope plugins, and have long said that Izotope, Logic (my DAW) and NI are the only music products I’d even consider subscribing to. I just wish we had a better sense of the two “major” updates supposedly coming later this year, and whether they’ll be more noteworthy than this Neutron update.

it's def $99 on izotope's site. maybe people need to clear their browser cache or something? idk. it showed up as $99 for me yesterday. it's still cheaper at 3rd party sites.. jrr and audiodeluxe etc.

it's still not in the sweetspot for me. the demand for what it offers over N3 advanced is low for me.

In a way, the most shocking part of all this is iZotope believing that Neutron 4 was ever going to be worth $149 (reduced from $199) to upgrade. At least with RX9 they halved the usual upgrade price, a nod to acknowledging it was a lesser release. N4 is pitiful feature-wise, one of it’s main headline grabbing features was already in N3 in a different module. And they really thought they could charge $149 and people would pay it.

I like to believe - naively perhaps - that this incredibly rapid retreat would be a wake up call to them when it comes to pricing and / or features in future. I accept the initial prices will be as high as it gets, but in this case it actually felt it was insulting customers’ intelligence.

Cleared my cache (or, actually, just used a different browser than I usually do) and the $99 came up when I logged in. I still doubt I’ll go for it, but at least that’s one mystery solved.

Side rant. Updating anything in their Product Portal app is a minefield. It looks like a simple "click update and forget about it" deal but it's a full re-install of each plugin, so you have to becareful to deliver the same DLL files to the same folders or risk messing up your existing projects. I'm happy for an installer to mark a spot in my Windows Registry to remember what I installed previously (VST2 or 3, default or custom folder etc). You try to keep it clean but many of these larger companies do the same thing: they demand you install 32 AND 64-bit, VST2 AND 3, and AAX even though you don't need it (Softube I'm looking at you, grrr).

Excuse me.

Got it and love it.
iZotope remains quite special.
Here’s hoping they will indeed update R4 and Nimbus to M1 native.

It's the Elements version...which is now more crippled than any elements version to date. You'll be out of luck if you want to operate the EQ or compressor.

Ah, my bad if that’s the case 🤦‍♂️
