Oh for heaven’s sake. This is the new “behind the scenes” of RX10 page - interminable waffle which says nothing other than “we’ve made it easier for newbs”.
https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/why-up ... rx-10.html
There’s not even any mention of “more features to come”. That really looks like it might be it.
Here’s a similar feature-vacuum for Ozone:
https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/why-up ... ne-10.html
If this is seriously their response to the increased competition from Acon and Waves, it’s pretty risible.

you can see the feature list in the pic but it is the usual marketing bullshit that has infected the Anglosphere - telling a compelling story to personalise engagement blah blah.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 6:55 pm Oh for heaven’s sake. I still find RX easier to use than Spectralayers, much nicer display for some reason

new for me as I am on RX7 - definitely RX is software you can jump a few versions. That is common now as software has matured as both a set of features/capabilities and as a business - changes are going to be incremental

Yup, though not as exciting as previous updates there is some useful new stuff from 7 to 8. 8 to 9 has very little and - at the moment - from 9 to 10 is pretty much nothing. Roll it all together you have about 1 update's meaningful new features when going from 7 to 10.fairlyclose wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 10:27 pmnew for me as I am on RX7 - definitely RX is software you can jump a few versions. New DSP in Imager and Maximizer is all that I can see. I would hope they would have a better GUI framework, in Ozone9 there are some quirks still when using as VST..
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

Updated Repair ASSistant in RX. Don't know about others, but every time I tried it in RX9, the results were more on the not funny comical side and never useful. I doubt that besides adding more features, it will be more useful.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 6:55 pm Oh for heaven’s sake. But I'll be happy to test it against the most horrible voice recordings ever, from people who can (but they don't give a damn to do it) afford sessions in the most expensive recording studios in the world
Ozone seems to be also focused on updated Assistant. Fine for me. The fewer reasons to update the wallet is happier.

Well at least there is a new feature even if most won’t use it, with speech to text (there was no advanced info on this). Spectral recovery never did work all that well, this may improve things.
All in though, another good one to skip. 9 and 10 have both been pretty thin.

It feels like mission creep really. Or jumping the shark. Creeping the shark.
As a feature it has some use, but what does it have to do with noise reduction? Why is it part of RX? How is it repairing or even improving audio in any way?
What irks me is that I could list a dozen features or improvements immediately that would really help RX. This is not an area of audio that has run out of ideas, like EQ, compression or really almost any other area of audio I can think of. It’s one of the few excitements left, a place where miracles can still happen to a piece of audio. Instead they’ve ignored all that.
They’ve not - apparently - even fixed the known deficiencies, such as the ropey dialogue detection algorithm in Dialogue Isolate that I showed them in detail over a year ago. Nope, look over there - an elephant!
Phhh. On the one hand I’m glad it is not literally nothing. But it’s not what it should be.

Wow that is some iZotope apathy - full feature list released for RX10 and only three people bother to comment.
Did that RX10 download work in trial mode? The lack of curiosity even more remarkable if so. (Am away from base this week so can’t try myself)

I'm just downloading RX10 demo now. I went to get the RX9 demo but v10 is downloading.
