But lastly Plugins anyway.
Oh, I'd be very interested in knowing about u-he's "invested stakeholders". Must check my account and see if they sent any funds yet!

If you want plugins that are NOT overhyped, stop reading KVR and Gearspace, stop watching YouTube, and start actually using the plugins you already have.

Very true, but that’s also how you become stupid as f#ck, getting convinced you have all you need and you know your business when your dream plugins have been released without you knowing it and would open you new creative horizons or speed up your work.

Totally! I’m currently just one more YouTube video away from producing the next platinum hit!

As much as I agree, without sites like KVR, I wouldn't even have known about many of my purchases.

That's also the main reason why I'm still around here. Apart from improving my impressive post count.

I think the most consequential artists have worked within limitations.
All this digital technology hasn't actually led to better songs or better films.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Maybe. But, I'd definitely say they have led to more professional sounding productions.

For me: gear is the hobby. Music is the excuse to play with the gear.

I say just accept it and embrace the hype. Or get to work and ignore all the sites and videos trying to sell you products. But don’t complain about the hype that you’re probably over-consuming.

That’s all.

But... that’s a forum... made for talking...
What is the kind of discussions allowed here according to you ?
You’re coming here to talk about overhyped products to say it’s pointless to talk about overhyped products ?

Nobody’s complaining I think, we’re sharing opinions on a subject. Really, everything’s OK here.

You’re right in some way if I understand your point correctly, here we’re talking without any real point excepted sharing opinions so there’s no real goal, but remember what the thread is about.

Sure, that’s true. Those artists are free to participate or not in this thread by the way. :)

Talk about whatever you like! That's my point! Come here and talk about plugins! Read the news on every plugin! Go to YouTube and WATCH THE VIDEEEEOOOOSS!!!! It's fun! That's a great hobby!

But that's how we expose ourselves to the hype. That is "the hype."

But then also recognize that it's silly to then turn around and critique things for being overhyped. You're the one* that read the threads and watched the videos! Sometimes, developers aren't even behind them and it's just some content creator deciding to cover things on their own. So a thread that's basically saying, "hey, let's crap on all these plugins everyone says are good but I don't personally connect with" is just a little silly. You could've just skipped those next videos, or stopped reading that thread and the hype would've gone to zero! Embrace the hype. Including this thread.

*And I direct that phrase to no one in particular - I'm in that boat.

OK. Time to go somewhere else. :scared:

In the past I would have said Waves stuff, but no-one hypes it now.

The market moves so fast, the sheen fades from certain plugins quickly as the competition moves forward. The standard is so high across the board now.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.
