I’ve been eyeing the MIA labs sale. Tape, opto, their sonic enhancer… I used up my demos for them ages ago so I can’t try them anymore.

Oeksound has announced a bf sale from 25th to 28th November, 139 for soothe 2, I demoed it for the 3rd and last time. I just can't find any use for it to justify a purchase, I am fine with TDR Nova, SplitEq, Smooth Operator some de essers to attenuate problematic frequencies and since I do not use real drums I am not faced with harsh hi hats or cymbals.
Soothe 2 might be a good plugin and all the positive feedback makes it almost a must have, but will pass again.

That's what I think every year and, yet, somehow my bank account is missing a few hundred $$ after BF. :dog:
i usually come away with out spending much tbh, it's rare anything that's on my list makes the cut. and i grew up far too poor for impulse purchases :o
I grew up under the communist boot. I couldn't catch the 'impulse (impulsive?) purchase' habit because there was nothing you could buy besides vinegar and vodka lol

It's not like I never did it because I collected a lot of digital junk. Fortunately for prices like $1, $5 or tenner. Plugins that cost over $100 in the promo are not tempting at all to me.
I grew up poor and made fun of in image conscious California. I have a hard time staying away from 'deals' and definitely suffer FOMO. I currently have 5 different balsamic vinegars in my EDIT: pantry not panty :) (geeze Vurt), and I don't know why?

Not sure if this was shared but this forum is doing a good job of cataloguing BF sales:

Can’t relate to the vinegar, but another one that grew up poor and easily made fun of for not being able to afford name brand anything.

I get FOMO too, but I’ve got a short wishlist mostly of hardware stuff that keeps me in check.

I don’t think there’s much I want for software, but there’s some features only available in Nuendo that I wouldn’t mind having at the right price (upgrade from Cubase).

For effects, I think only Relab’s sale is tempting me, but not enough to pull the trigger.
Sonsig’s reverb sounds a bit like the reverb on Hologram’s Microcosm. It’s very lush and really the only thing I missed from Microcosm.

I wish Izotope and NI weren’t so weird, otherwise I would be tempted.

I use it as a dynamic notcher so i dont need to bother with fishing problematic frequencies.
Mostly in mids, i very rarely use it nonbandpassed or in higher frequency ranges.
Often M/S semi unlinked.

I also use it as a sidechain ducker to make space for vocals. Less aggro than trackspacer.

Selectivity practically always above 5, sharpness below 5, so broad strokes, 2-3dB attenuation max.

I find it indispensible, it’s so much faster than trying to manually EQ shit out and usually more transparent.
