Does anyone know , once the plugin is installed can I uninstall the arturia software or does it phone home ?
I obvioulsy want to keep the plugin installed but really dislike having another software centre installed .

Amazon expected me to give them my address too! Haha. Losers. I didn't fall for that one either. Never did receive my order though.

That's why I hope they revise their other filters. It's day and night compared to the other ones really.gentleclockdivider wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 12:42 pmNever thought I would say this about arturia , but it sounds equally as good as the drop ms 20 filter .greententacle wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 12:25 pm do you have to install the arturia service center software?
how does it sound in comparison to cytomic the drop ms20 model?
It sounds marvelous and dirty , arturia really stepped up their dsp code .

It doesn't need to phone home as far as I know, as it works fine when you're offline, but you would need their software centre for any future updates. I don't think it runs constantly either (I may be wrong about that) as I have to physically open it whenever I use it (for updates and new installs etc). Whether you can uninstall it completely I'm not sure, but I would guess yes. You could ask their support, who I've always found very responsive.gentleclockdivider wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:11 pm Does anyone know , once the plugin is installed can I uninstall the arturia software or does it phone home ?

It was and it's still one of the best plugin giveaways to date imoCrystalWizard wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:17 amWasn't Raum new when they gave that away? (i actually missed out on that somehow)jamcat wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:02 am ... ...
NI gives away old plugins. Arturia gives away new plugins.

In my experience Arturia plugins do phone home and in fact activate the "Arturia Software Center Agent.exe" when loaded.wltchris101 wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:34 pmIt doesn't need to phone home as far as I know, as it works fine when you're offline, but you would need their software centre for any future updates. You can check the activity at your Firewall:
(This is after loading Pigments)
Now I don't know if the plugins will still load and function if the phone home is unsuccessful but I doubt they'll function without the ASC being installed.

Similar experience on Mac. If you kill their background process, their plugins will not load. I don't know they actually phone home but they require their agent for DRM.Teksonik wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:05 pmIn my experience Arturia plugins do phone home and in fact activate the "Arturia Software Center Agent.exe" when loaded.wltchris101 wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:34 pmIt doesn't need to phone home as far as I know, as it works fine when you're offline, but you would need their software centre for any future updates. And happy holidays to all you KVRians. Hope you can make it a peaceful one... or maybe an extremely unpeaceful one after running it through this plugin, heh.

According to the activity at the Firewall here the agent.exe is phoning home.kidslow wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:26 pm Similar experience on Mac. If you kill their background process, their plugins will not load. I don't know they actually phone home but they require their agent for DRM.
Arturia's plugins are some of the slowest to load of any that I own so maybe it's the "open the agent.exe/phone home" process that's causing the delay.
Looks like the Agent also runs as a background process (on Win 10):

Well my pc lives offline, and I only go online with it occasionally for the specific purposes of updates and new installs. So their stuff must work without phoning home cos mine do it constantly. I can go months without going online and they've always been fine.Teksonik wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:05 pm

But I am probably well off the mark with my guess that you can run their software after uninstalling their software centre.
