It's named specifically as an example in the OP, so I think you're set. :tu:

What about Harmor in FL Studio? Are the All Plugin Edition synths counting as „DAW Synth“? I guess it should, because you can‘t even purchase it for use in another DAW ATM.

Though it‘s critical, because it‘s way importing samples into the OSCs, but if you use just single waveforms it should be OK, right?

What about stock sounds, which base on samples, they are then against the rules, of course(?)

This OSC could be a nice oportunity for me to learn Harmor finally, and to take part again in an OSC, without the need to take a niche synth, which I wouldn’t want to use in the future furthermore, but as longer I think about it, it seems to turn into a mine field….

I'm sure this is legal, since the DAW and version were not specified. Moreover, if someone had switched to another DAW specifically for this month and expanded it to a higher version in order to get synthesizers in the kit, this would also be legal. Many are trying other DAWs this month)

I don't remember how Harmor works, but single cycles should be fine.

Agreed.

You will indeed need to steer clear of anything that essentially performs sample playback, including sample based presets. Otherwise you're fine. Also, no need to limit yourself to single audio cycles. Tables are fine, as long as no sample playback is attempted. Same for anything you can concoct in a paint program. GIMP is both comprehensive and free.

In a nutshell, it is an additive synth that uses pictures as a way to program partials. One pic for amplitude, one for frequency manipulation. Pics can be either imported directly, or resynthesized from audio files. Very powerful.

Hi to all!

This is my entrance for the KVR OSC 1 2023. Made in Mulab.

Just wanted to check before I get too invested - I’ve sketched a few ideas using Reaper’s JS:Complex X Filter Synth which is part of ReaPack. Is this OK?

I believe that's a yes:

Ok. Just wanted to check, because it’s third-party made and that statement was pretty broad. Thanks.

Well, that makes the prospect of using a Reaper “DAW synth” less unappealing, lol. Gotta say, this one in general is pretty crazily unbalanced per DAW, and by implication, per dollar spent that way (give or take a little in some cases).

Still, could be interesting to try. Hm..

you can use any jsfx synth and effects

https://github.com/JoepVanlier/JSFX for example

Well I might change up my synth then. I was just going to use the default ReaPack stuff, but if we can import other stuff, then I will venture out. To be honest, it'll be a good opportunity to learn some more stuff.

Edit: Gosh that repo has some good stuff in it!

I was going for Yutani at first but then changed to Partials. Trying an Aleksi Perälä micro percussion style track in the vein of Unity/Cycles series.

Here's my submission:

I wanted to add more details, but my CPU didn't let me. This is one patch, bouncing was not an option. No sample modules used.
DAW: Bespoke Synth, a modular DAW. https://www.bespokesynth.com/
Both leads are generated with a randomized perlin LFOs.

The following plugins are the final link, wrapped with carla inside of Bespoke:
-LSP Parametric EQ (Stereo and MidSide)
-LSP Compressor
-ToTape5
-Slew3
-x42-dpl

Here is the patch, if anyone wants to check it out (CC-BY):
