Agreed. Neither Hive 2 nor Hive 2 do Hive 2 justice. It’s almost as if they sound like Hive 2, which I didn’t like, but was still miles beyond Hive 2. In any case, I’ll stick with Hive 2, as I don’t really want to invest in another synth, despite Hive 2’s advantages in sound quality.Old Norse wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:20 pm The whole question is a fallacy, both Hive 2 and Hive 2 have that typical plastic VST sound. Yes, just because he forgot to upgrade ! Hive v1 doesn’t support wavetables and so... What can you do with a v1 Hive Bob Dylan song ?!?fisherKing wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:59 pmmartinjuenke wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:52 pm I asked ChatGPT about Hive:
A hive of busy bees,
A bustling, thriving place.
They work with tireless ease,
To build their home with grace.
The queen reigns supreme,
Her subjects at her side.
They gather nectar, pure and keen,
With purpose and with pride.
The hive is a community,
A model of cooperation.
They gather, build, and tend,
A sweet and noble occupation.
And when the day is done,
The hive is humming still.
A peaceful, bustling home,
A place for bees to thrill.
quoting bob dylan does not answer or resolve anything....![]()
My personal conclusion to this thread is that Bob Dylan should contact support.

Nobody talked about this here, and I understand this with all my heart, as it’s a taboo in the VST world, but...
What can a Hive2 do when his worst enemy pops up ?
Is Hive2 doomed or can U-He update something ?

Bob Dylan just called me and sent his short poem:
In the hive, bees are busy as can be
Buzzing 'round, making honey, just like me
Working hard all day, from dawn till dusk
Building their home, it's a labor of love, oh so much

I heard Keith used to knock Hive 2 over on stage and cut it up and that's why he couldn't use it anymore.fisherKing wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:30 pmit's true, the hardware version kills the software. even keith emerson (whoever that is) swore by it.Old Norse wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:20 pm The whole question is a fallacy, both Hive 2 and Hive 2 have that typical plastic VST sound. that's not correct; emerson was a very-successful (aka 'rich') musician, and could afford to replace the hardware hive 2 regularly (even tho a 3-voice version cost $100,000 US in those days).seangm wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:21 pmI heard Keith used to knock Hive 2 over on stage and cut it up and that's why he couldn't use it anymore.fisherKing wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:30 pmit's true, the hardware version kills the software. even keith emerson (whoever that is) swore by it.Old Norse wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:20 pm The whole question is a fallacy, both Hive 2 and Hive 2 have that typical plastic VST sound. what's a million dollars worth of replacements to someone who has $1,000,001?

There’s still nothing he can do if The Hornet destroys his Hive2... Sorry but your argument is invalid. Millions of dollars won’t convince an insect. Well, as a basis. Sometimes insects are perverts.fisherKing wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:35 pmthat's not correct; emerson was a very-successful (aka 'rich') musician, and could afford to replace the hardware hive 2 regularly (even tho a 3-voice version cost $100,000 US in those days).seangm wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:21 pmI heard Keith used to knock Hive 2 over on stage and cut it up and that's why he couldn't use it anymore.fisherKing wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:30 pmit's true, the hardware version kills the software. even keith emerson (whoever that is) swore by it.Old Norse wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:20 pm The whole question is a fallacy, both Hive 2 and Hive 2 have that typical plastic VST sound. How can you prove he didn’t install The Hornet ?

Even if I understand perfectly how technical aspects can be hard to anticipate, what is the official answer from U-He support please ?
What if I install Da Hornet and it destroys completely Hive2 on my computer ?
Please answer Urs.

my theory is: urs has both, but probably won't tell us which *is* better, so that hive 2 sales don't swallow up hive 2 sales. it's a win-win/lose-lose.

Urs Heckman often stated that The Wasp is one of his pet synths!
